"We've got to stay alive"

Those were the last words I heard from Ma as she pulled my hands running through the street. All around us people were running. 

The world was in chaos. A strange gas was in the atmosphere and people were developing supernatural powers. 

Some had telepathy, they could easily read your minds, some had telekinesis, they could easily lift you up from the ground and leave you floating. 

These mutation caused a change in the earths surfaces. The ionosphere, the biosphere, the hydrosphere, the atmosphere was affected.

The water became too hot to drink, the air became to thick, oxygen was gradually depleting.

As long as you are normal, surviving becomes difficult. You are hunted down down everyday. 

Surviving becomes essential and we have to do all we can to survive.

Everything changed for Keturah, when her Mum was taken from her. 

As a scientist, and the best the town ever had, her Mum was suddenly wanted when an accident happened and a strange gas was released into the atmosphere causing genes to be mutated and people suddenly having supernatural powers.

Her Mum was taken as she was believed to have the cure. 

For eleven years, Keturah searched for her Mum, hiding in the woods.

She could feel the change from within. She needs her Mum, She needs the cure.

BEYOND THE ORDINARY

Keturah knew exactly what she signed up for. The plan was already brewed in her head when she stepped into Katherine's office to form an alliance with her. Her Mother, Cathy and Amara thought she was going with their plan, but she had something better up her sleeves. 


The past few weeks went by in a haze, Katherine was acting all too sweet, she knew it was all a facade, she wanted something from her, she wanted to use her to bring her Mother to the ground and she would gladly let her use her as a puppet, just for now. 


Katherine made sure Keturah was constantly administered with the drug that kept her from disintegrating. She almost felt normal. But she made sure the power suppressor remained on her neck; she wanted no surprises. 


Keturah was almost living her best life. She didn't wake up in the middle of the night feeling like her guts were about to be ripped out. 


Katherine has been treating her like she actually mattered.
