(Rose)
The sound of steady beeping rang through my ears as I waved through the unconsciousness in my mind. The scent of antiseptic and methylated spirit made my nose itch in irritation. I groaned as I fought to open my eyes, each eyelid feeling as though it bore the weight of the entire world. My sight was blurry as I took in my pure white surroundings. I squeezed my eyes again desperate to get rid of the blurriness I had been plagued with.
In the corner, a monitor beeped steadily showing my increasing heart rate as I struggled to remove all the probes I was attached to.
Right next to the monitor was a drip stand containing some clear fluids I was being infused with. I tried to get out of bed but I was pushed back due to the overwhelming pain I felt in my abdomen. I brought my hands down to it and felt it covered with bandages.
