Jamie's eyes scanned the party with his calculating gaze. His expression was too cold for his age.

He stood at the edge of the room, his arms crossed and his eyes narrowed as he watched the scene before him. He surveyed everyone down to their shoes and watches type.

The other kids were laughing and chatting, their faces flushed with excitement and sugar from the cake and ice cream. However, Jamie's face remained impassive, his eyes shining with a maturity that belittled his youthful appearance.

He never wanted to attend this dumb party. When Hannah mentioned the party, it took him so much to let it sink in. He was about to reject the invitation.

Her rejection words got stuck in his throat when he was 12 years old; Robb jumped up beside him and agreed immediately.

Jamie had accepted reluctantly. Robb seems happy about the party, so why not?
