The Unexpected Announcements

Asher sat in his biology class; his eyes fixed on the whiteboard as Professor Miller lectured on the intricacies of cellular respiration. He was a good student, always making sure to attend classes regularly and complete his assignments on time. Despite his difficult circumstances, Asher was determined to make the most of his college education.

As he gazed at Professor Miller, Asher couldn't help but feel a flutter in his chest. She was a beautiful woman, with long, blonde hair and piercing blue eyes. Asher had had a crush on her since the first day of class, but he knew it was futile. He was just a poor, orphaned college student, and she was a successful professor.

As Professor Miller wrote notes on the board, Asher's mind began to wander. He was worried about his part-time job at the local coffee shop. He'd been working there for months, but the hours were unpredictable, and he was never sure when he'd be called in. Asher had to balance his work schedule with his classes, and it was a constant struggle.

Just as Asher was starting to zone out, Professor Miller's voice cut through the room.

"And finally, I have an announcement to make. Due to the importance of this semester's material, I will be holding an extra class session every week. This will be mandatory for all students, and attendance will be taken".

Asher's heart sank. An extra class session? How was he supposed to fit that into his already-packed schedule? He couldn't afford to lose his part-time job, not with rent and tuition to pay.

As the class erupted into a chorus of groans and complaints, Asher felt a sense of panic wash over him. He was already struggling to keep up with his coursework, and now he had to worry about an extra class session. He didn't know how he was going to do it.

Professor Miller smiled sympathetically, her eyes scanning the room. "I know this may be a challenge for some of you, but I'm confident that you'll all rise to the occasion. And don't worry, I'll make sure to provide extra support for those who need it."

Asher felt a flutter in his chest as their eyes met, but he quickly looked away, not wanting to get caught staring. He was a middle-class student, struggling to make ends meet, and he couldn't afford to get distracted by his crush.

As the class came to a close, Asher felt a sense of dread washing over him. He had to find a way to make this work, but he had no idea how. He was already running on fumes, and this extra class session was just the cherry on top of his stressful life.

With a heavy heart, Asher packed up his things and headed out of the classroom, wondering how he was going to survive the rest of the semester. He caught a glimpse of Professor Miller as he left, her smile and sparkling eyes only adding to his worries. How was he supposed to focus on his studies when he had a crush on his teacher?

During extra class...

Asher's eyes darted towards the clock on the wall, his mind racing with the impending doom of being late to his part-time job at the local coffee shop. He was already running behind, and the memory of last week's salary cut still lingered, a constant reminder of his failures.

"Asher, I'm afraid we're going to have to reduce your salary by 10%," Mr. John, his boss at the coffee shop where he worked part-time, said with a firm yet apologetic tone. "You've been late three times this month, and it's impacting the team's performance."

Asher's face burned with shame as he recalled the conversation. He had promised himself he would do better, but it seemed like he was doomed to repeat the same mistakes. And to make matters worse, he had forgotten to complete his homework last week, earning him a stern warning from Ms. Sophia

As the extra biology class dragged on, Asher's mind wandered further and further away from the topic of cellular respiration. He couldn't concentrate on the intricacies of mitochondria and chloroplasts when all he could think about was the impact of the salary cut on his already tight budget. He glanced at Ms. Sophia, her piercing blue eyes scanning the room as she lectured, and his heart skipped a beat.

Asher didn't want to disappoint her again, not after last week's mistake. He knew he had to focus, but his mind kept drifting back to the coffee shop, to the looming shift and the fear of being late. He couldn't bear the thought of losing his job, not when he needed it to support himself.

Ms. Sophia's voice was like a gentle breeze, but Asher's ears were tuned to the sound of his own heartbeat, pounding in his chest. He forced himself to focus on the lesson, but his eyes kept drifting towards the clock, counting down the minutes until he could escape.

As the class finally came to a close, Asher gathered his things and made a hasty exit, his heart racing with anxiety. He had to get to the coffee shop, and he had to get there fast. He couldn't afford to be late again, not if he wanted to keep his job, and his crush, intact.

Asher took a deep breath as he rushed out of the classroom, his mind racing with worst-case scenarios. What if he got fired? He pushed the thoughts aside and focused on the task at hand. He had to get to the coffee shop, and he had to make it on time.

"Ugg! what the hell! I am late again"

Asher burst out of the college gates, his feet pounding the pavement as he rushed towards the local coffee shop. He was already running late, and the anxiety was eating away at him.

"Why do I always do this?" he muttered to himself, shaking his head in frustration. "I promised myself I'd be on time, I promised Mr. john I'd do better... and yet, here I am, late again."

He quickened his pace, his mind racing with worst-case scenarios. "What if they've already replaced me? What if I get fired? What if Mr. John sees me walking in late and thinks I'm not taking my responsibilities seriously?"

Asher stopped at the corner of the street, taking a deep breath to calm himself down. He looked up at the sky, feeling the weight of his mistakes bearing down on him.

"I'm such a failure," he whispered, his voice barely audible. "I can't even get my life together. What's wrong with me?"

He took another deep breath, squaring his shoulders as he prepared to face the consequences of his tardiness. With a determined look on his face, Asher continued his journey to the coffee shop, ready to face whatever awaited him.
