A Sudden Realization
"Don't you get it, Tsunade? Of course there's a point to all this! Finn is completely protecting you!"
She'd wondered before why someone as powerful as Finn would covet the position of Hokage. It made no sense. Now, after all this time, it was clear: everything he did was for her! This realization left Tsunade feeling a mix of guilt, warmth, and speechlessness.
She nodded, her voice barely a whisper, "Yes, I've figured it out..."
Immediately, a blush spread across her face.
"Uh... I just remembered I have rice cooking at home. I need to go check on it before it gets mushy!" Hyuga Hiashi quickly reacted, practically bolting for the door.
"I have to hurry back and collect my clothes!" Even old Mitokado Homura, despite his age, had enough emotional intelligence to make a hasty exit.
"This old man, talking about collecting clothes when the sun's still out! I need to go back too. The weather's perfect; I should air out my dried fish!" Utatane Koharu also rushed out.
"Hey, I just remembered something my wife told me. I need to take care of it right away!"
"I still have some things on my phone to finish. I'll take my leave first!"
"Wait for me, let's go together!"
Even the most oblivious person in the room understood. In the blink of an eye, the Hokage meeting room was empty.
Tsunade looked at Finn, pursing her lips. "Finn, I'm not some peerless beauty. Why did you fall in love with me at first sight?"
"Love at first sight? Haha, actually, we just fell for each other, and well, that was that..."
"Pfft... you're really a bit naughty..."
The Kage Summit
The Fourth Great Ninja War was on the horizon, and the Five Kage Summit was convened in the Land of Iron. This neutral, non-ninja country was the most suitable venue for the five leaders to meet.
From Cloud Shinobi Village, the Fourth Raikage, Ay, arrived with Darui and C.
From Iwagakure, the Third Tsuchikage, Onoki, came with Kurotsuchi and Akatsuchi.
From Kirigakure, the Fifth Mizukage, Mei Terumi, attended with Chojuro and Ao.
From Sunagakure, the Fifth Kazekage, Gaara, was accompanied by Kankuro and Temari.
And finally, from Konoha Village, the Fifth Hokage Finn led the delegation, joined by Tsunade and Shizune.
The leaders of the five great ninja villages were not simple individuals; none were easily swayed. After everyone was seated, the other four Kage noticed a very strange face among Konoha's delegation, and they all frowned.
"Tsunade," Onoki began, two days later, "The Hokage from Konoha Village looks very young. Is he from Konoha?"
Tsunade met Onoki's gaze with a firm attitude. "Last month, he wasn't a member of our Konoha Village. But now, he is. Do you have a problem with that?"
"What do you mean by that?" asked the Fourth Raikage, Ay, looking at Tsunade. "Does that mean this person was temporarily recruited by your Konoha Village? And then he forcibly became a member of your Konoha Village?"
His words were incredibly rude, laced with sarcasm, mocking Konoha Village for supposedly having no one left to lead. The relationships between the five great ninja villages had never been truly amicable. Just like between countries, there were no true friends or enemies, only mutual interests. And since the interests of the villages often clashed, no one was going to speak up for Konoha at this moment.
"Raikage! Please speak with respect! Finn and I are in love; this isn't some mean trick you're implying!" An angry expression crossed Tsunade's face, her eyes fixed on the Fourth Raikage, her imposing aura gradually becoming palpable.
"Hahahaha! So he's your little man, Tsunade! I said, how could he be Hokage at such a young age? So it's because of your nepotism, hahahaha!" Fourth Raikage Ay laughed mercilessly.
"I see!" Onoki also showed a strange expression.
"You two are so old, can you be more serious? Do you really need to concern yourselves with who Tsunade chooses to be with?" Terumi Mei looked at both of them with contempt, seeing that Raikage and Tsuchikage were intentionally making fun of Tsunade. It wasn't that she had a good relationship with Tsunade; in fact, she had no relationship with her at all. It was simply because Terumi Mei herself was past the age of marriage, and she genuinely disliked people talking about such matters. Now that even Tsunade had found someone she liked, Mei felt more at ease. When Ay and Onoki used this incident to mock Tsunade, as a woman, she reflexively sided with Tsunade.
As for Kazekage Gaara, he seemed uninterested in anything else, calmly observing the other four. Of course, beneath that calm exterior lay a terrifying ferocity.
"Hey, you two old bastards! How dare you disrespect my Tsunade? Are you tired of living?"
Just as everyone was talking over each other, Finn, who had been calm throughout, suddenly spoke. His words stunned everyone present.
What?
This little boy dares to speak?
Because Finn appeared very young, and Tsunade had been doing all the talking since they arrived, everyone had branded him as just a "little boy." They assumed that while he might be Hokage, all the major decisions were still up to Tsunade. So, for this "little boy" to utter such bold words caught everyone off guard.
"Boy, who are you talking to?! You only get to sit here because of the person next to you! And I can even acknowledge your presence because of the title 'Hokage'! Even though that title is a joke on you, I'm still showing respect to Konoha Village!" Hearing Finn directly call him an "old man," the Fourth Raikage Ay immediately flew into a rage. "Don't take yourself too seriously! If I decide not to give you face, I can crush you in an instant!"
Onoki had originally planned to say something, but seeing Ay's outburst, he held his tongue, quietly waiting for the show to unfold. However, Onoki then looked at Tsunade and jokingly said, "Tsunade, your little 'boyfriend' is calling himself the strongest Kage in history! If this turns into a fight, I'm afraid you won't be able to protect him."
"Yes, Tsunade, hurry and persuade your little boyfriend. It's good that he wants to stand up for you, but he's picked the wrong fight. If he truly angers the Kage and they decide not to let your little boyfriend go, then it will be too late to regret it," Terumi Mei also chimed in, persuading her.
Hearing this, Tsunade sighed softly. "It's not your fault for being ignorant, but if you're arrogant about your ignorance, that's a big mistake!"
"Now, it's not about whether Raikage will let Finn go, but whether Finn will let Raikage go..."
