Tangled in a Moonlight is a heartwarming romance set in the pristine landscapes of Jeju City, where Baek Hyeon-woo, a 17-year-old nature enthusiast, struggles with his new life after moving from Seoul. Although mesmerized by the beauty of Jeju’s nature, Baek feels guilty for enjoying it without his family, who he left behind. Emotionally tethered to his past, he hesitates to form new relationships.

Everything changes when he attends the Jeju City Fire Festival, where he encounters Hong Hae-in, a captivating girl who shares his love for nature. Their brief meeting sparks a connection, but Baek mistakenly believes that Hong Hae-in has feelings for her childhood friend, Yoon Eun-seong. Unbeknownst to Baek, Hong Hae-in harbors feelings for him but is paralyzed by her fear of rejection, having faced it too many times in the past.

As Baek’s close friend, Cheon Da-hye, and Hong Hae-in’s childhood friend, Yoon Eun-seong, begin supporting their friends, they develop feelings for each other and eventually start dating. This new relationship helps Baek realize his misunderstanding, giving him the courage to pursue Hong Hae-in.

In the end, Hong Hae-in overcomes her fear and confesses her feelings to Baek. Both couples, Baek and Hong Hae-in, as well as Cheon Da-hye and Yoon Eun-seong, find happiness as they grow closer together, embracing love and connection despite the emotional struggles they each faced along the way.
