Wolf's Affection

Yeah call me a whimp for crying but it actually hurt. It was an indirect form of rejection my heart could not hold.

Tamara was the one mostly in pain. We had dreamt of this day all along, to meet our mate and makes sure he falls madly in love with us but this one was gone already.

The Beta came in after a while with a plate of a proper meal. I felt so irritated. He opened the cage and gave it to me but I turned away from him

"Please eat the Alpha would have my head if you don't eat"

Asshole pretending to care when he couldn't even look me in the eye.

"Then tell him to shove it down his throat"

He sighed again and left few minutes later he came back with the company of a girl. My age infact.

When she saw me she froze. It looks like she wasn't expecting to see me

"Well I was expecting to torture someone else who has the privilege of getting a nice meal and rejecting it"

She said to the Beta. I just glared at the two of them. She smiled at me

"You're too pretty for that... anyways I'm not going to hurt you "

I relaxed at her words as she opened my cage and sat down on the bed with me.

She collected the plate of food and gave it to me. I hesitated but eventually collected it.

"I mean I wanted to beat you to death but I didn't know it was you "

She said with a hint of guilt. I smiled at her. This felt familiar for some odd reason.

I managed to say as I stuffed the delicious meal down my throat. She watched me for sometime as I rushed my food.

"Without food... nothing...who is she and why is she here"

"The Alpha's mate and Alpha Jamie said he doesn't want to be around her "

My heart sank at his words. I dropped the remaining food and gave the tray back to the Beta. Lyla looked at me in sadness

He fisted her palms. The Beta then left. She sighed

"I apologize for my brother's behavior, there has to be a reason"

I half smiled as I looked down at my feet

I murdered. She held my hand. Raised my chin to look at her. She smiled

"I don't know why Jamie is behaving like this but I'll get you out of here...no one should be treated this way especially since you are his mate"

I just nodded with a smile. There's no need anyway he hates me.

I sighed and dropped the paper and looked up at him as he stood across the table

"What gives you the right to interfere"

"None of this is her fault, she didn't choose this fate why punish her like this"

As the memory keeps playing with Diane in my hands smiling as she breathed her last. Even in her fucking death birth and she kept smiling. Kept looking at me in hope. I can't relive that

The door swung open and Lyla walked in angryly

"Jamie are you out of your mind...why would you lock up your mate....YOUR MATE in a cell. Have you lost your mind"

"You know my brother was never like this, A COWARD, he wouldn't hurt his mate to protect himself....I know she reminds you of Diane and I don't know what went down the drain with her but all I know is that you were given a second chance... make the most of it and sort out your problems.... stop messing this girl up emotionally "

She said in one breath and I have never felt more lectured in my life. She turned to go

"Better still reject her than punish her for no reason keeping her locked up... that's all she wants now"

She said in a low voice as she exists my office. Axel just looked at me and left too.
