Ch.265 Surgery Arrangement

Naruto's disappearance hadn't escaped Shinji's notice either.

But seeing how calm the village remained, with no stir from the higher-ups, he knew it must be the village's doing and wasn't concerned.

And since Jiraiya had returned to the village ahead of schedule, he suspected Naruto's disappearance might be tied to Jiraiya.

After all, in the original timeline, Jiraiya had personally trained Naruto.

After sending the increasingly chatty Shion off to train, Shinji discreetly observed the students doing their morning exercises on the training field.

To avoid standing out too much, Karin had started morning training as well.

She and Haku were sparring in an inconspicuous corner. From a distance, their movements looked natural—not at all like those of a blind person who'd lost their sight.

Neji, as usual, practiced his Gentle Fist against a wooden dummy with mechanical precision, a faint shadow of gloom on his face.

Yakumo, on the other hand, had brightened up considerably, training alongside Sakura and Ino with smiles and chatter.

Shinji's gaze lingered briefly on Yakumo before quickly shifting away.

He wasn't sure if Tsunade had dispelled some suspicion or if her attention had been drawn elsewhere.

In any case, her focus on Yakumo had noticeably lessened.

Since Shinji frequently visited the medical team, he'd gotten the news right away: starting today, Yakumo no longer needed daily checkups at the medical wing.

This meant Shinji could attempt a cell transplant surgery on Yakumo to eradicate her congenital frailty.

But before transplanting White Zetsu cells into Yakumo, he'd need to first implant a dojutsu Bloodline Limit capable of balancing the White Zetsu cells. Otherwise, if the White Zetsu cells went out of control, Yakumo's feeble body would likely collapse on the spot.

And to balance the Yang Release chakra in the White Zetsu cells, it would take at least Mangekyo Sharingan-level Yin Release chakra to be safe.

Shinji had three pairs of qualifying eyes at his disposal.

One pair was Uchiha Fugaku's Mangekyo Sharingan. Another pair contained the 'Susanoo Man' dojutsu. The last pair was the newly fused Koryugan.

He mulled it over briefly.

Uchiha Fugaku's Mangekyo Sharingan was a backup for his 'Rinnegan Plan,' reserved for Sasuke to fuse into an Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan.

Plus, that pair contained 'Amaterasu,' a dojutsu lethal against spirits in a single strike, so Shinji couldn't use it lightly.

As for the pair with 'Susanoo Man,' that too was part of his 'Rinnegan Plan,' set aside for Karin to pursue an Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan.

So the only pair he could transplant into Yakumo was the Koryugan—freshly born and currently uninvolved in any plans.

At the same time…

Transplanting the Koryugan into Yakumo offered benefits that a Mangekyo Sharingan transplant couldn't match.

For one, the Koryugan was something Shinji had forcibly fused using 'Susanoo Tomoshibi,' leaving no record of it in the shinobi world. So even if Yakumo's Koryugan were accidentally exposed, the village would only assume she'd awakened some rare dojutsu Bloodline Limit by chance.

But if it were a Mangekyo Sharingan that got exposed, Yakumo would be immediately detained by the village, and the transplanted Mangekyo Sharingan would be confiscated on the spot.

Secondly, this newly born Koryugan was incredibly worth exploring.

Yet Shinji didn't have much energy to spare on it right now, so transplanting it into Yakumo would also let him develop the Koryugan through her.

Additionally, the purpose of transplanting the Koryugan into Yakumo was to help her balance the White Zetsu cells. Balancing the White Zetsu cells itself was a process of being nourished by their Yang Release chakra—a rudimentary stage of Yin-Yang unification that might even produce a trace of the Power of All Things.

This would nourish Yakumo's body and the Koryugan as well!

With these two points in mind, Shinji quickly made his decision.

That night…

Outside the Kurama Clan's main family estate…

Dressed in a red-cloud robe, Shinji activated his Koryugan to scan the area. After confirming that the Anbu monitoring Yakumo had been reassigned, he flickered and slipped into the estate.

"Leader!"

Seeing her leader arrive, Yakumo hurried to greet him, giving a proper bow.

Shinji nodded and casually asked, "How was yesterday?"

Yakumo briefly reported what happened the previous day, then asked, "Leader, was my performance yesterday alright? I didn't mess up anything for you, did I?"

Shinji didn't answer, instead using his Koryugan to examine Yakumo's body.

And as the Koryugan activated…

In an instant, Yakumo's body became utterly transparent in Shinji's eyes, with no secrets left to hide. Her beating heart, flowing blood, even Ido lurking in her mental world—everything appeared clearly in Shinji's vision.

Even as a dojutsu Bloodline Limit shinobi, such vivid perception still felt a bit unfamiliar to Shinji.

Yakumo, being so thoroughly observed, also felt uneasy. She looked at Shinji, her face full of apprehension.

A moment later, Shinji shook his head slightly.

When he'd used the Byakugan to observe her before, it could see through her too, but the Byakugan focused on the chakra in the meridians and wasn't as adept at perceiving flesh and blood, so he hadn't pinpointed the root of Yakumo's condition.

Now, after a thorough inspection with the Koryugan, he quickly identified several areas causing Yakumo's weakness and gained a deeper understanding of her body.

Seeing Shinji suddenly shake his head, Yakumo grew even more nervous. "Leader, what's wrong? Is there something off with my body?"

Shinji replied, "I've figured out the root of your condition. Aside from a transplant surgery, there's no other way."

Through the Koryugan, he'd confirmed that the problems lay in critical organs like her heart and liver—issues no ordinary medical ninjutsu could resolve.

That was likely why even Tsunade had been at a loss with her condition.

Yakumo quickly asked, "Then when can we start the surgery? Even if there's no Mangekyo Sharingan-level eyes, I'm not afraid!"

Shinji said calmly, "The eyes—I've already prepared them for you."

"What!?"

Yakumo froze.

She never could've imagined that her leader had actually prepared a pair of Mangekyo Sharingan-level dojutsu Bloodline Limit for her.

"The village's surveillance on you has been lifted. I'll arrange the eye transplant surgery for you as soon as possible!" Pausing, Shinji continued slowly, "Once you've adjusted to the transplanted eyes, I'll plan the next step—the cell transplant surgery—based on the situation."

Yakumo stared at Shinji in a daze.

His calm tone made her feel, for a moment, as if he were merely talking about trivial daily matters.

But once she snapped out of it, she knew these were monumental events tied to her entire life—events significant enough to catch the attention of all five great shinobi villages!
