Ch.278 Testing and Experimentation

The news of Kurama Yakumo becoming Tsunade's disciple continued to ripple through the village.

Tsunade's lofty status meant her every word and action drew the attention of Hidden Leaf's major shinobi clans—especially something as significant as taking a disciple.

After all, the Hokage title had already passed to the Fourth generation.

Many clans had seen through the inheritance logic: without entering the Hokage's mentorship system, no amount of strength or merit could secure the position of Hokage.

This was precisely why the Uchiha clan ultimately rebelled—they knew that as long as the Hokage faction held power, they'd never ascend to that seat.

Thus.

By apprenticing under Tsunade, Yakumo didn't just gain a formidable teacher—she also earned a ticket to potentially climb to the pinnacle of village authority.

That's why the Kurama clan was decked out in celebration, hosting feasts for guests!

And those clans that had once dismissed the Kurama clan now curbed their disdain, reevaluating their stance toward them.

In a secluded training ground filled with various instruments.

The outside commotion didn't faze Yakumo. Brought here by Tsunade, her mind was wholly focused on the mission her leader had assigned her.

Tsunade said: "Yakumo, you must know what's changed about your eyes, right?"

"Yes!"

Recalling her leader's orders to cooperate with Tsunade, Yakumo nodded obediently.

"Good!" Tsunade smiled briefly before continuing: "Can you try activating it? Or using its abilities?"

Yakumo took a deep breath and activated the Koryugan.

In an instant, the pupils in her sockets turned as clear as rubies, and a diamond-shaped pattern slowly emerged in them.

Tsunade's pupils contracted sharply.

Though she'd had her suspicions and prepared herself mentally, witnessing the Koryugan firsthand still left her unable to suppress the shock in her heart.

"This pattern—it's not the Sharingan, not the Hogan, nor the Blood Dragon Eye…" After ruling out other possibilities, her doubts vanished: "My god, this child really has awakened a completely new dojutsu Bloodline Limit!"

Witnessing the birth of a new dojutsu Bloodline Limit stirred her long-dormant heart, reigniting a flicker of excitement.

Suddenly, a spark of ambition flared within her—to dive back into medical ninjutsu research and unravel the mysteries of Bloodline Limit.

Noticing Tsunade's stunned pause, Yakumo asked softly: "Lady Tsunade?"

"Oh!" Snapping back, Tsunade quickly said: "Next, I'll conduct a thorough examination of your eyes."

Yakumo stated: "Koryugan!"

"What?"

Tsunade blinked.

Yakumo emphasized: "It's called Koryugan!"

It had been named by her leader, so Yakumo stubbornly believed it could only bear that name.

"Koryugan, huh?" Tsunade mused thoughtfully, then smiled: "Alright, it's the Koryugan! Now let's start the examination. Don't be afraid—it won't hurt!"

"Yes!"

Yakumo nodded.

In the hands of a professional like Tsunade, the Koryugan's observation skills, transparency ability, and even its blood-insight powers were meticulously measured.

Many of the results were even more precise than Shinji's own assessments.

Looking at the Koryugan's baseline data, Tsunade was floored.

As Hidden Leaf's princess and the founder of its medical ninjutsu system, she had access to all the village's research on the Sharingan and Byakugan—especially the secretive, bloody studies from the Second Hokage's era.

She knew the capabilities of the tomoe Sharingan and Byakugan inside and out.

That's why the Koryugan's data left her reeling!

In terms of observation range and transparency, the Koryugan far surpassed the Byakugan. The Byakugan's ability to perceive chakra flow? The Koryugan had it too. But the Koryugan's ability to perceive and manipulate blood? The Byakugan lacked that entirely.

In dynamic tracking and fine detail perception, the Koryugan outstripped the tomoe Sharingan by a wide margin.

In other words, the Koryugan also possessed the Sharingan's ability to copy ninjutsu and taijutsu.

And because it could simultaneously track an opponent's chakra flow and blood movement—mimicking both chakra usage and muscle coordination—its copying ability outclassed the Sharingan's. Theoretically, it could even replicate secret techniques the Sharingan couldn't.

"This is insane!"

Even Tsunade, seasoned by countless trials, couldn't help but exclaim.

Yakumo stepped forward cautiously: "Lady Tsunade, are my eyes okay?"

Tsunade looked at Yakumo with a complex expression: "Yakumo, we've all underestimated your talent. You might just be the greatest genius at the academy!"

Yakumo probed: "Is the Koryugan strong?"

Tsunade nodded emphatically, her usual calm replaced by excitement: "Strong doesn't even cover it! Your Koryugan surpasses the Sharingan and Byakugan in every aspect. Perhaps only the legendary Mangekyo Sharingan could stand toe-to-toe with it."

Yakumo thought inwardly: "The Leader was right—the Koryugan is a dojutsu Bloodline Limit on the Mangekyo Sharingan's level!"

Tsunade asked: "Yakumo, does your Koryugan have any abilities you haven't shown yet?"

Yakumo replied: "It seems to control my blood, boosting my speed and strength."

Tsunade nodded slightly—she'd already noted that ability—then said: "Can you control someone else's blood? Like mine?"

Yakumo froze. She hadn't even considered that.

Tsunade beckoned her over: "Come on, give it a try on me!"

Yakumo hesitated: "Lady Tsunade, isn't that too dangerous?"

"For others, this kind of test would indeed be risky!" Pausing, Tsunade smiled: "But I can handle it. Don't worry—go ahead and use your ability!"

"Lady Tsunade, be careful!"

After the warning, Yakumo reached out toward Tsunade, clenched her fist, and activated the Koryugan.

*Thump, thump!*

In an instant, Tsunade felt her heart seize as if gripped by something, her entire body stiffening.

"This!?"

She'd expected the Koryugan to be powerful, but not *this* powerful—affecting her blood so drastically without even physical contact.

In a heated battle, a move like that would be impossible to guard against.

As Tsunade unleashed her chakra, the blood control and stiffness quickly faded. Panting, she said to Yakumo: "Yakumo, this blood manipulation ability of yours is incredible. Use it with caution!"
