Kaleb's Point Of View
Breakfast had gone from zero to one hundred in the blink of an eye. I couldn't believe that Tristan was pregnant. Even more unbelievable was that he was going to keep it.
It made what I wanted to say to everyone inconsequential. I had been worried that everyone would overreact and I'd be forced to argue with them so early in the morning, but Tristan dropped the bomb of all bombs just now, so I had no more concerns.
Everyone slowly began to accept the news after Sable congratulated Tristan, but Delcain had nothing but worry in his eyes. I had spent over a week with Gaibe, and even though I told him he could go home at any time, he wouldn't, unless I expressly ordered him to.
In the beginning, that didn't seem like it would be hard to do. But after 4 days, I had this feeling that it would be twice as hard to meet him again, so I couldn't bring myself to dismiss him so easily.
