As I watched everyone say their farewells, I noticed that Tristan had been wearing an awkward smile, but his eyes were a whirlpool of emotions.

It was clear that he was once again planning to do something dangerous. He went on to hug everyone. Picking up Arellany, and hugging him tightly as he kissed his face all over.

Those weren't the actions of someone who was just being overly affectionate. After watching him closely, I had a sudden realization.

'He plans to stay here... Fuck....'

There was no doubt in my mind that Tristan was planning to stay behind, and not accompany his siblings to the safe house. I knew that if he had already resolved to make this decision, there was no way we could talk him out of it.
