I was walking through the university halls, observing many students cheerfully talking to each other, while I, who had no friends, felt no envy.
I continued until I found myself in front of two paths: one that continued straight and the other that turned right. My class was along the first path.
I heard voices in the corridor to the left and saw a boy with brown hair and eyes, dressed in the typical school uniform, together with a beautiful girl also in university attire. She had bright blue eyes, a petite figure, and slender legs.
She was a beauty that could easily be mistaken for a heroine in a light novel. Somewhat intrigued, I hid behind the wall.
"I like you. I want you to be my girlfriend", said the boy, with his head bowed and his back sweating from the anxiety and tension of the wait, which seemed endless.
"Okay", the girl replied in a low voice.
I heard the girl's whisper perfectly and thought to myself how lucky that bastard was, immediately labeling him as the protagonist.
"What?!" the boy exclaimed loudly, incredulous at what he had heard, thinking internally that he had had a sensory hallucination.
"Ugh, I said okay, I want you to be my boyfriend. Are you deaf or stupid?" the girl exclaimed loudly, her cheeks now red with embarrassment.
"But why do you think-" the boy said, his sentence incomplete.
I completely ignored them, losing any initial interest and not wanting to look beyond the romantic plot, I walked away.
I continued straight towards my class, gritting my teeth, and muttered with a sigh, "A humble extra like me will never experience these situations, but why do I keep encountering similar scenes as I pass?"
The sound spread into the void, with no one to listen to it, then disappeared into silence.
I finally reached my class, opened the door, and entered. The room was already full of students, some sitting at their desks, others standing, all chatting animatedly.
The buzz filled the air, creating a constant background of intertwined conversations.
Groups of friends laughed and joked, while someone flipped through books or took notes.
Some students, with focused expressions, discussed study topics, while others shared stories from the past weekend.
Sunlight streamed in through the windows, illuminating the room and creating a warm and lively atmosphere.
I found my desk at the back, near the window, it seemed like a typical spot for a main character. Well, unfortunately, I am not one. I moved the chair and then sat down, looking around.
The group next to me was chatting among themselves, but I didn't remember their names, actually, to be honest, I didn't know almost any of my classmates' names even though we had been together for months.
I only called them student A, B, C, etc., and female student A, B, C, etc.
"Hey buddy, how did you spend the weekend?" student H said.
"Well, the usual: helping my mother with house cleaning, doing homework, studying for exams, hanging out with friends and other things, but I'll stop here, if I continue, I'll go on until evening", student C replied cheerfully and playfully to student H.
"Okay, any-"
I stopped listening and got lost in my thoughts. I looked in particular at a girl a few desks in front of me.
Her name is Eva, and she's practically the only name from my class that I remember.
She was the most popular girl in school, so much so that even I had to remember her because others talked about her every day. Not only was she good at both sports and academics, but she was also an orphan abandoned by her parents. Despite this, she always wore a bright smile, never letting her tragic past define her.
I more or less understood her personality over the time I spent with her, obviously just as an observer.
