Chapter 20: Dimensional Summoning, an Unexpected Bond

Shocked!

Everyone in the vanguard squad was utterly shocked as they witnessed the destructive power of the fiery fist unleashed by Mo Fan.

The thought hit them hard: They all went through the same nine years of compulsory education, didn't they? But while Mo Fan was notorious for being a slacker during the nine years of magic theory classes, here he was, casting Mid-Tier magic while they were still struggling with second-level beginner spells!

If anyone in the group felt the most awkward and envious, it had to be their homeroom teacher. Even now, the teacher was just a beginner-level mage himself.

Though embarrassed, the teacher was more curious than anything else. He asked, "Mo Fan, how did you know that Instructor Bai Yang was one of the Church's men?"

Mo Fan pointed to the spot where Bai Yang had just been killed, leaving behind nothing but foul-smelling slime. "Because of the Dark Fiend Beasts." Mo Fan said.

These Dark Fiend Beasts had been tied to Bai Yang. The moment Bai Yang died, the beasts were doomed as well, even without Mo Fan's intervention.

Understanding dawned on Xue Musheng when he saw the residue left by the demons. The others looked at Mo Fan with newfound respect.

With Bai Yang taken care of, the group finally reached the safety zone.

Mo Fan soon met with Zhan Kong. Though Mo Fan had kept the Holy Spring hidden, he jokingly claimed to have "consumed" it. Zhan Kong was speechless.

"You actually drank the Holy Spring? Do you think it's meant for drinking?" Zhan Kong said. But on a serious note, since the Sacred Spring had been safely returned to the barrier, it meant there was still hope for Bo City. Mo Fan had already proven himself a hero by preventing the Church from obtaining it.

Now, Zhan Kong's task was to slay the Winged Wolf.

"Kid, stay alive and keep getting stronger." Zhan Kong said before leaving.

Once Zhan Kong left, Mo Fan didn't intend to stay long in the safety zone either. Before heading out, he decided to perform a dimensional summoning.

Truth be told, Mo Fan had thought about summoning a different creature before. Should he replace his old wolf? But parting ways with the wolf felt a bit regretful. The wolf was still useful in the early stages, but in the future, it would merely be a mount. Still, what more could he expect from a dimensional beast?

Besides, would a high-tier beast even want to follow him at this point?

With those thoughts out of the way, Mo Fan closed his eyes and began linking the stars of his summoning magic.

The stars in the summoning element's star dust were transparent, with occasional traces of moonlight. As Mo Fan connected the stars in the right sequence, the lunar glow intensified, forming a crescent moon-like star path.

The star trajectory emerged, swirling around Mo Fan. It looked like a glowing, moonlit thread cutting through space, slowly tearing open a path to another dimension.

Mo Fan's eyes opened, his gaze deep and vast. He stood there in the trial arena, but his soul seemed to be wandering in another realm. His consciousness arrived in a mysterious dimension.

A black pathway led to a moonlit dimensional gate, like stepping from a narrow, dark cave into a wide-open paradise. A brand-new continent stretched out before him like a mirage, both close and distant, as though he were a god observing a scene within a dream.

With a mere thought, Mo Fan flew across vast distances. Even the swift creatures running on the ground were left far behind, disappearing beyond the horizon.

As he soared through this dreamlike world, he encountered numerous servant-level beasts, but none of them had the bloodline strength he was looking for.

Then, a howl pierced the sky.

Was it fate, or just coincidence?

As he flew past a towering mountain, a proud, blue wolf-like creature stood atop the peak, howling toward the dim sky.

"Well, little wolf, if it weren't for your howl, you probably wouldn't have a chance at dominating the future." Mo Fan mused as he descended to meet the creature.

The blue wolf watched curiously as Mo Fan approached.

Standing before the wolf, Mo Fan didn't make any sudden moves. Instead, he asked, "I'll give you a choice: Do you want to come with me?"

To be honest, Mo Fan still had his doubts. He wanted to keep the Old Wolf, but also craved something more powerful, like a flying beast. But since the blue wolf had called out to him first, he gave it the chance to decide.

The wolf seemed to understand Mo Fan's words, though it appeared confused. Why should it pledge itself to this human?

Wasn't it supposed to be the other way around, where the human begged for its cooperation?

Seeing the wolf's bewildered look, Mo Fan couldn't help but laugh. He then sent a mental imprint, which formed a soft, glowing light that gently enveloped the blue wolf.

Before Mo Fan could finish speaking, a mental seal appeared on the wolf's forehead.

This seal bridged the two dimensions, and as Mo Fan completed the summoning process, his consciousness rapidly withdrew from that half-real, half-imaginary world.

Back in Bo City's safety barrier, Mo Fan couldn't help but smile.

"This wolf pup made a wise decision!"

With his new blue wolf companion, Mo Fan summoned the beast and rode it out of the safety zone, leaving many people astonished as they watched him go.

Back where the vanguard squad stood, the sight of Mo Fan riding a blue wolf left them dumbstruck.

"Where did Mo Fan get that wolf?" Xu Zhaoting was the first to voice his disbelief.

They had the same education, but how is Mo Fan so outstanding?

"Could it be that Mo Fan has already mastered a second element? No, that can't be right—he's only been a mid-level mage for a short time." Xue Musheng said, equally stunned.

As for Mu Bai, who once harbored resentment toward Mo Fan, his mindset had changed. Facing life and death alongside Mo Fan had made him realize how childish he had been. He had always wanted revenge, but now, he understood how foolish it was compared to Mo Fan's strength.

Zhang Xiaohou, still full of admiration, had a new light in his eyes. He knew he could never be like Mo Fan, but he aspired to become someone who could protect others.

And as for Zhao Kunkun, he was trembling. Seeing Mo Fan's strength, he wondered if he should stop barking like a dog around him.

The image of Mo Fan's fiery punch obliterating Bai Yang and the wolf would likely stay etched in his mind for the rest of his life.

Mo Fan had considered switching summoned beasts, but the Old Wolf turned out to be quite interesting. And besides, in the later stages, any dimensional beast would mainly serve as a mount. The Old Wolf's evolution path, especially beyond the commander level, would lead to significant changes.
