Chapter 30 : Hunting Demon Wolves

In the southern mountains of the Bo City, there exists a massive wolf clan settlement. The Winged Wolves that had invaded Bo City were merely one of the major subgroups of this clan.

Mo Fan's Summoned Wolf Beast had been growing rapidly during this time, so Mo Fan decided it was time to hunt some wolf demons. Ideally, he would encounter a spirit essence, but even if not, it would be a great combat training opportunity.

Although his cultivation has surged recently, magic power alone isn't everything. Without knowing how to use it properly and efficiently, it becomes wasted potential.

Mo Fan found himself walking through a quiet and mysterious forest. The dense trees stretched endlessly, and sunlight streamed through the leaves, casting dappled shadows on the forest floor. The fresh air around him was so pure it seemed capable of cleansing one's soul.

However, this tranquil forest was far from safe.

This is wolf territory. From the moment Mo Fan stepped into it, he was surrounded by wolves, their eyes filled with wariness and cunning. He could sense their presence and even hear their low growls. But Mo Fan understood—they were waiting.

Waiting for their commander, a warlord-level wolf from the nearby lair.

Suddenly, a series of wolf howls echoed through the forest, and a pack of fiery red wolves rushed out!

These weren't the One-Eyed Demon Wolves.

While the One-Eyed Wolves are a significant part of the wolf clans, the southern regions are home to other wolf tribes as well. These Flame Demon Wolves, in terms of bloodline and combat ability, far surpass the One-Eyed Wolves!

The Flame Demon Wolves were large and powerful. Even though they hadn't reached their next evolutionary stage, their size was on par with Mo Fan's Summoned Wolf Beast. They were muscular and brimming with raw strength. Their deep red fur shimmered as if scorched by flames, radiating a fiery brilliance. Under the sunlight, their pelts gleamed so brightly that one couldn't look directly at them.

Their eyes were perhaps the most striking feature. Red-hot like two burning fireballs, they were filled with wildness and fury. When they locked onto Mo Fan, he felt an intense pressure, as though an invisible force was bearing down on him.

Still, these Fire Demon Wolves were only servant-level creatures, so Mo Fan wasn't intimidated.

"Fiery Fist: Exploding Heavens!" Mo Fan shouted.

As the wolves lunged toward him, Mo Fan unleashed a powerful punch of fire, sending a blazing wave of flames crashing into the wolves. Despite their fire-aligned natures, the wolves couldn't withstand the sheer force of the attack. Seven or eight of them were instantly incinerated.

The remaining wolves hesitated, clearly shaken.

The Fire Demon Wolves were dangerous, not just because of their physical strength, but also due to their flame abilities. They could spit blazing fire from their mouths, turning anything nearby into ash. Their fur even occasionally sparked, adding to their fearsome appearance.

Seeing they couldn't engage Mo Fan in close combat, the wolves began spitting torrents of fire at him.

"Boom!"

"Boom! Boom!"

The ancient trees around them were strong enough to withstand the onslaught, but the surrounding forest was soon ablaze.

Fortunately, Mo Fan was protected by his spirit fire, so he wasn't worried about getting burned.

"Thunderbolt: Yaksha!"

Mofan yelled, using his shadow magic to teleport to a clearing.

Purple star patterns appeared around him, summoning a dense barrage of lightning. The electric storm rained down on the wolves still spewing fire.

"Boom! Boom! Boom!"

Thunder rumbled, and over ten Flame Demon Wolves were blasted into the air, crashing to the ground lifeless.

"Whimper, whimper…"

The remaining wolves started to whine.

They were scared. But they were also calling for help.

"Howl!"

Another wolf howl echoed, far louder than the earlier ones. Soon, Mo Fan spotted the source—a much larger and more powerful Flame Demon Wolf appeared. This was clearly the leader of the pack.

Mo Fan, being well-read on monsters, especially those from the southern regions, instantly recognized this as an Inferno Howling Wolf—a wolf with an extremely high bloodline within the wolf clan!

The Inferno Howling Wolf was enormous, with sleek, powerful muscles and bright red fur that shimmered as if it were on fire. Its fiery eyes burned with intelligence, making it appear more dangerous than the other wolves.

This wolf had not only mastered its flame abilities but could also manipulate fire into various forms for ranged attacks. Even more terrifying, it could use fire as a shield, making it difficult for enemies to approach.

With the appearance of this warlord-level wolf, the remaining thirty Flame Demon Wolves quickly rallied around their leader.

The Inferno Howling Wolf let out a howl, commanding the wolves to attack in a more coordinated manner.

Clearly, this wolf was not only physically powerful but also highly intelligent, capable of using strategy and commanding its pack in battle.

"Thunderbolt: Exploding Apex!"

"Shadow Evade: Traverse!"

"Fiery Fist: Ground Break!"

Mo Fan unleashed his arsenal of magic, becoming a walking arsenal of magic. The wolves tried to spread out, but Mo Fan handled them with ease, using basic spells to deal with the weaker ones.

But just as Mo Fan was getting into the rhythm of battle, the Inferno Howling Wolf suddenly lunged at him with incredible speed, catching him off guard.

"Slash!"

"Boom!"

"Crash!"

The wolf's claw ripped through the air, and Mo Fan hastily summoned his Bone Scythe Shield. But the shield was no match for the wolf's power and shattered instantly. Mo Fan was sent flying over ten meters away by the force of the attack.

Despite the pain, Mo Fan quickly got up, his body enveloped in azure flames.

"Fiery Fist: Exploding Heavens!"

A massive fire punch blasted toward the Inferno Howling Wolf's position, but the wolf agilely dodged to the side.

"Boom!"

The azure flames exploded, instantly incinerating the dozen or so Flame Demon Wolves behind the leader.

"Thunderbolt: Exploding Apex!"

Realizing the need for a more potent strategy, Mo Fan unleashed another bolt of lightning, aiming to paralyze the Inferno Howling Wolf.

However, the wolf anticipated the attack and dodged once again, leaving the ground charred but the wolf remained unharmed.

"Awwooooo!"

With a fierce howl, the Inferno Howling Wolf unleashed a blazing red energy wave from its mouth.

"Boom!"

Mo Fan shadow-shifted out of the way just in time, narrowly avoiding the blast, which left a crater where he had stood.
