The daily life of the floating island, full of vitality

Nako awoke to the soft morning light filtering through the windows of Villa 206 on the Floating Island. She blinked a few times, staring blankly at the ceiling as the memory of yesterday's peaceful sleep came flooding back. Life on the Floating Island was unlike anything she'd known before—it was safe, almost tranquil, even amidst the chaos of the world below.

A sweet smile crept onto her face as she thought of Yuto Saito. Meeting him had changed everything for her. Before, she had been a little lazy, unmotivated to push herself, but now she felt energized every day, eager to improve and impress him.

Determined, Nako swung her legs out of bed and dressed quickly in a sleek black suit. After freshening up, she descended the stairs to find Yun Yun in the kitchen, gracefully preparing breakfast, her apron neatly tied around her waist.

"Morning, Sister Yun," Nako greeted cheerfully.

Yun Yun turned with a warm smile. "Good morning, Nako. I'm just finishing up the porridge. If you're thirsty, feel free to help yourself to some milk first."

Nako nodded, pouring herself a glass of milk and nibbling on a few biscuits. The simplicity of breakfast suited her just fine; she had plans for the day, after all. "Sister Yun, I'm heading out to hunt a few snakes. I want to upgrade Tiger Tuaner's teleportation ability."

Yun Yun, knowing Nako's combat strength had reached six stars, gave her a nod of approval but offered a gentle warning. "Just be careful out there, okay? Don't get reckless if you run into high-level monsters."

Nako beamed, touched by Yun Yun's concern. "Don't worry! I'll stick to those under the fourth level. If things get dicey, I'll fly away."

"Good," Yun Yun said softly. "Come back soon. Breakfast will be ready by the time you return."

Nako's smile widened as she left the villa, soaring off the Floating Island and toward the nearby school grounds in search of prey. She soon spotted a strange creature slithering in the grass—a third-order pig-headed snake, its grotesque form a fusion of two species.

"That's new," Nako muttered, hovering overhead. With her iron spear in hand, she decided it was time for action. She descended swiftly, driving the spear straight into the creature's head, sending it into violent convulsions. The pig-headed snake thrashed, trying to strike back with its tail, but Nako quickly drew her long knife and severed it. A few more precise strikes, and the snake lay dead.

"Three hundred experience and a red sapphire," Nako grinned, satisfied with her work. She had a good feeling about today's hunt—there were surely more creatures lurking nearby.

Back on the Floating Island, Yuto Saito woke with a start, the system alerting him that Nako had just slain a third-order monster. He smiled, impressed by her dedication. Looking at Ni Shuang, who was still peacefully asleep beside him, Yuto couldn't resist kissing her soft cheek. Her fair skin and gentle beauty were captivating, even in sleep.

With a contented sigh, he dressed and made his way downstairs. The scent of breakfast greeted him, and Yuto found Yun Yun bustling around the kitchen. Unable to resist, he wrapped his arms around her from behind. "Morning, Xiao Yun," he murmured into her ear.

Yun Yun twisted playfully in his arms, a bright smile lighting up her face. "I thought you'd sleep until noon."

Yuto chuckled. "Not a chance. Besides, four hours is all I need."

Yun Yun giggled. "How was last night? Did you sleep well?"

Yuto gave her a knowing smile. "Of course, thanks to you."

Yun Yun blushed slightly. "You're too sweet."

He glanced at her loyalty gauge in the system, still sitting at a perfect 100. It brought a smile to his face. "I noticed Nako's already out fighting monsters this morning," he said, changing the subject. "She took down a third-order pig-headed snake."

Yun Yun looked surprised. "A pig-headed snake? What kind of creature is that?"

Yuto explained, "It's a mutant monster—two creatures fused together. We're seeing more of these hybrids lately. And it's not just the monsters. Zombies are starting to fuse as well. They turn into something called corpse brothers."

Yun Yun shuddered slightly at the thought. "Zombies fusing together… That sounds terrifying."

"It is," Yuto replied. "There are all kinds of zombies—ordinary ones, jumping corpses, and now these corpse brothers. They're going to be a real problem soon."

While peace reigned over the Floating Island, the world below was slipping into chaos. Zombies had already infiltrated three cities: Sanya, Ning, and Wuzhi. The military scrambled to contain the outbreak, but the situation was spiraling out of control. The agile jumping corpses had even reached the outskirts of Qiong City.

Faced with overwhelming odds, the Hailan military sent out a desperate plea for reinforcements to the Southern Military Region. Song Yi, Gao Guang, and the rest of the Southern Military leadership wasted no time, mobilizing 30,000 troops to rush to their aid. But as the zombie hordes continued to spread, the fate of the cities—and their people—hung in the balance.
