Vortigan didn't answer. His eyes were fixed on the titan, his mind oddly calm. He had known the risks when he activated the catalyst, but he had also known that allowing Pax to claim the planet would have been a fate worse than death.
Now, the only hope was to contain the entity before it could wreak havoc across the galaxy.
Pax, still bleeding and barely conscious, let out a weak laugh. "You… you've doomed us all, Vortigan," he said with his voice filled with bitter amusement. "The great Lord of the Planet… reduced to a destroyer of worlds."
Vortigan turned to him, his expression hard. "I did what I had to do. And if this is the price, then so be it."
With that, he raised his blade, its edge glowing with a fierce, determined light. "Rose," he said, his voice steady. "If you've ever cared about this galaxy, now's the time to join forces."
