The Alphas exchanged glances, each of them staring at each other with contemplative gazes. I returned to my seat. Almost immediately, Alpha Marcus of Shadowcreek Pack rose, his massive frame trembling with emotion.
"I've thought this for years, but never dared to speak it. The Lycans treat us like servants, not allies. We are after all equal in the eyes of the Moon Goddess. Just because they have one or two traits we do not possess doesn't make them better than us."
Alpha Alain of the Desert Wind Pack rose next. "My pack has lost good warriors defending the interests of the Lycans. When I asked for aid during the Feral's rampage, they turned their backs on us and my Pack was an hour's drive from theirs. They had no excuse."
