Chapter 159: Taking the Pill to Break Through
The mountain air was hazy and damp as an autumn drizzle fell, carried by a cold wind.
Christa's delicate frame shivered in the cold, her torn clothing offering no protection. Her exposed body trembled in the wind, but her defiant and resentful gaze stayed fixed on Aizen.
From the sky, a Blood-Eyed Demon Hawk descended, landing on Aizen's shoulder. With a shake of its wings, droplets of rain scattered. It opened its sharp beak and spat out a bamboo tube.
Aizen retrieved the tube, pulled out a silk note, and scanned its contents. His eyes flickered with understanding, and with a pulse of internal energy, the silk was shredded into floating fragments.
In one swift motion, he hoisted Christa onto his shoulder, ignoring her shrieks, and dashed out of the valley.
