"Why should I kill the goblins? They don't seem like bad beings to me," Flynn asked his system.

"NOTICE: They feed on humans, which makes them a threat," it replied. "Nine minutes remaining."

Flynn sighed, glancing at his servants as he weighed his options.

"Papa, you're not leaving, right?" Beatrice asked, hugging his legs. He looked down at her smiling face, feeling unprepared to take away her joy. The other goblins were mourning their fallen comrades, and the village lay in ruins. Fortunately, the chief of the goblins was still alive. He approached Flynn and bowed deeply.

"Thank you for saving us, human. We owe you our lives," he said, kneeling on one knee. The other goblins followed suit.

"NOTICE: 3 minutes remaining to complete the mission. Failure to do so will decrease your XP."

"Can you shut up?!" Flynn shouted at the system, startling both the goblins and his servants.
