Third person's pov
As Cassandra stepped out with Theo on Saturday night, she couldn't shake the heavy weight of guilt that hung over her like a dark cloud. Despite Theo's efforts to make the evening enjoyable, Cassandra found it increasingly difficult to suppress the nagging feeling of remorse that gnawed at her from within.
As they walked hand in hand down the bustling streets, laughter and music filling the air around them, Cassandra forced a smile onto her lips, trying desperately to conceal the turmoil raging inside her. She laughed at Theo's jokes, nodded along to his stories, and even danced when the opportunity arose, all the while feeling like a fraud.
Every moment spent with Theo only served to magnify Cassandra's guilt, reminding her of the deception she had perpetrated and the pain she had caused. She couldn't help but compare the evening to the one she had shared with Hale, where every smile had been genuine, every laugh had been heartfelt, and every moment had felt like magic.
As the night wore on, Cassandra's facade began to crumble, her forced smiles faltering, and her laughter ringing hollow. She could see the concern in Theo's eyes and she knew that she was failing miserably at pretending to be happy.
Unable to bear the charade any longer, Cassandra excused herself under the guise of needing some fresh air. Alone on the quiet street, she allowed herself to finally confront the overwhelming guilt that had been consuming her.

As Theo escorted Cassandra home, her mind was a whirlwind of conflicting emotions. Despite Theo's efforts to make the evening enjoyable, Cassandra couldn't shake the heavy weight of guilt that had settled in her heart. She tried to engage in conversation, to smile and laugh as they walked together, but every step felt like a struggle.
As they reached Cassandra's doorstep, Theo turned to her with a concerned expression. "Are you okay, Cassandra?" he asked, his eyes searching hers for any sign of distress.
Cassandra forced a smile onto her lips, nodding faintly. "I'm fine, Theo," she replied, her voice barely above a whisper. "Just tired, I guess."
Theo's brow furrowed, but he chose not to press the matter further. Instead, he bid her goodnight and a promise to talk soon before heading off into the night.
Alone once again, Cassandra sighed heavily, feeling the weight of her guilt pressing down on her like a leaden cloak. She knew she couldn't keep up the charade any longer, that she had to confront the truth of her feelings and the consequences of her actions.
As she stepped into her empty home, Cassandra sank onto the couch, her thoughts consumed by the events of the evening. Tears welled up in her eyes as she allowed herself to finally acknowledge the depth of her betrayal.
As Cassandra wrestled with the weight of her guilt, she knew she couldn't keep the truth hidden any longer. She had to tell Hale about her feelings, about the tangled mess she had created with Theo, but finding the right time proved to be a daunting task.
Days turned into weeks, weeks turned into months and still, Cassandra found herself unable to muster the courage to broach the subject with Hale. Every time she was with her, she felt the weight of her guilt pressing down on her, suffocating her with its intensity.
