Anya was in the living room, with everything going on she wasn't sure if she wanted to be involved.
Was it the human Zephyr brought for Kai, or the kidnapping of Harlan. It was time to go to her bedroom, to recollect her thoughts, but just as she was about to turn back towards the stairs, she saw Zephyr entering from the hallway.
"Anya," Zephyr said with relief, "I was looking for you."
She folded her arms. "You were? Or were you with Kai again?"
Zephyr sighed, running a hand through his tousled ginger hair. "Kai needed me. He... he's still not himself. I had to stay."
Anya's arms were still folded, she didn't know what to say. Why did it bother her so much that Zephyr always chose Kai, no matter what? It wasn't the first time he had put his brother before her, and it likely wouldn't be the last. Yet, it stung. She hated that it did. Zephyr loved his brother despite everything Kai had done—despite the way he treated her.
