Never Trust a Vampire

While in the Principal's office, Kaylor's phone buzzed in her hand as she glanced at the unknown number. She was curious, so she excused herself from the principal's office, stepping into the hallway to answer. She walked a short distance, holding the phone close as she whispered, "Hello?"

A faint, trembling voice came through, it was barely audible. It was a girl, but she sounded too scared to speak.

Kaylor frowned. "Hello? Who is this?"

"Kaylor…" the girl spoke again.

"Who is this?" Kaylor asked again with seriousness. There was a brief silence, then the girl spoke again.

"Leave the school. Meet me at the twin tree in the woods."

Kaylor's brow furrowed. "The twin tree? Who are you? And why should I—"

"If you want to know what happened to your brother, you'll come," the girl's voice hardened, but only for a second, and it carried desperation with it. "And if you're smart, you won't tell anyone about this call."
