Kai stood in his room, with sunlight pouring in through his massive window when someone entered. Without turning around, he addressed the presence he already knew was there.
"Liam," Kai began with a calm but indifferent tone. "I want to ask how you escaped, but that would be giving you too much credit."
Liam chuckled. "I'm different now, Kai. I'm not just some mere shapeshifter anymore. I'm something... bigger. Stronger."
Kai smirked tightly, still not looking back. "Hmm. Good for you."
Liam stepped further into the room. "Don't you want to know all the new things I can do?"
Finally, Kai turned. "Tell you what," he said flatly, "I couldn't care less."
Liam laughed, a sound that was filled with mockery. "You think you're a tough guy, huh? Kai Crimson—the toughest, scariest, baddest of them all."
Kai tilted his head slightly, and he smiled briefly. "That is exactly who I am."
