"The normal mode let you challenge a gymnasium in a different manner. The more badges you have the more students you are going to fight. That's the only thing that doesn't change. However, you are not going to challenge 2 students in your first gym, if you wants to challenge the normal mode after beating the easy mode. You are going to challenge 1 student. The trick part? Every Pokémon is level 25. Every student will have 2 pokemon we will have to fight against. And finally the leader, will have 3 pokemons or more at level 30 each. After beating the gym leader you will receive a silver badge for the normal tier mode.

The hard more, if your pokemons are strong enough can be also pass, but each student will have three Pokémons, levels 40-45 and the gym leader will also have 3 or more pokemons at level 50! After beating the leader you will receive a gold medal.

The champion league can also be divided in elite 4 aspirants and champion aspirants. Trainers who have pokemons in the 50's to 80's levels are also referred as elite four, or elite 4 aspirants. As for any trainer that have two or more pokemons a level 81 or higher, they are called champions. They are the first line of defense against the power of 'Royal Pokémons', Pokémon hordes or any natural disasters. The second line of defense are the elite 4, gym leaders and all trainers with Pokémon that are able to fight that are in the levels 50's and higher. The third line of defense are trainers with Pokémon able to battle in the levels 30's to 50's and also Pokémon rangers. After that, we follows the order from the highest tier pokemon trainer depending on where we are."
