Chapter 51

As the sun began to set, casting long shadows across the land, I decided to prepare a feast for Avalor, I needed to talk to him and I wanted it to be over food, over dinner.

I had spent hours in the kitchen, my hands moving with grace and precision as I sliced and chopped and stirred. The aroma of roasted meat and freshly baked bread filled the air, enticing the senses.

I had the dining room decorated with soft, warm light and fresh flowers that brightened and it up the room. The table was set with the finest ceramic and silverware plates and gold plated cutleries, each place setting a masterpiece of elegance and class.

The maids who were ever watchful, offered their assistance, showing and raising their concerns as they watched me move things all by myself in the kitchen, barely asking for their assistance but I insisted on doing most of the work myself.
