Chapter 14: Ghost Forest

"Hehe, another dog is following me!" Less than fifteen minutes after leaving the Lin Mountain Range, Lin Yang noticed the unmistakable signs of being followed. His smirk grew wider as his sharp instincts told him that he had aroused someone's curiosity once again.

This Old Devil is known for being cunning and cautious, Reflecting on a previous occasion of being followed, Lin Yang immediately deduced that he was definitely being watched.

The question of who was tailing him was an easy one to answer—it was either the men of the Lin Family Head or one of the other Young Masters. Regardless of their identity, one thing was clear: they harbored ill intentions.

Though uncertain of their motives, Lin Yang possessed numerous methods to shake off his pursuers. He deftly navigated along the periphery of the Black Forest Mountain Range, intentionally choosing remote and treacherous paths that would challenge anyone trying to keep up with him.

"Bastard, using this trick again, thinking you can elude me? Dream on! Do you think I'll fall for the same ploy twice? This time, I've come prepared with Mountain Hounds!" Lin Yun sneered from behind, his voice dripping with arrogance. Several guards trailed behind him, each leading a few peculiar small dog-like Vicious Beasts known as Mountain Hounds. These creatures were renowned for their keen sense of smell and tracking abilities.

Lin Yun felt confident that the Mountain Hounds would track down Lin Yang and bring him back, ensuring his capture. However, his plans quickly unraveled when one of his guards let out a panicked cry. "Young Master, not good! The Ninth Young Master is missing!"

Instantly, Lin Yun's anger flared up, his frustration evident as he scanned the surroundings for any sign of Lin Yang. Yet, to his dismay, the fugitive was nowhere to be found. Overwhelmed with exasperation, he unleashed a barrage of scathing insults at his incompetent guards. "You useless bunch of fools! Can't you even chase properly?"

"We can't!" Several guards admitted, their heads hanging low in defeat.

What happened next left Lin Yun dumbfounded. The Mountain Hounds, meant to track down Lin Yang, were instead engaged in an inconceivable behavior—they were mating. Lin Yun's confusion morphed into a fiery red flush as he pointed at the mating dogs and demanded answers from his bewildered servants.

"What on earth are those beasts doing?"

"Mating!" Several servants candidly replied, their amusement evident.

Infuriated, Lin Yun snapped, "Are your eyes playing tricks on you? I want to know why they are mating instead of performing their duty! Why would they choose this precise moment to engage in such behavior?"

The servants exchanged perplexed glances, powerless to provide a satisfactory explanation. These Mountain Hounds were not meant to be in their mating period, yet their instincts seemed to contradict this fact at a most inopportune time.

Meanwhile, Lin Yang successfully eluded his pursuers, a triumphant grin spreading across his face.

They had underestimated his resourcefulness and shrewdness. While he appeared to wander aimlessly, he had actually taken advantage of their presence to disperse a faint fragrance of Desire Powder into the air.

This medicinal scent lay undetectable to ordinary creatures, yet it triggered the mating instincts of the Mountain Hounds, effectively distracting them from their task.

With a self-assured smile, Lin Yang turned his focus towards his primary objective—the fabled underground palace of the Three Cauldrons Emperor Temple.

Though he had never set foot inside in his previous life, he was resolved to explore its ruins, hoping to unearth valuable artifacts or hidden treasures that lay within.

After a grueling day of searching, Lin Yang finally arrived at a foreboding forest that met the description of the ancient forest on the periphery of the Black Forest Mountain Range.

This ghost tree forest, as it was called, was veiled in an eerie ambiance, courtesy of the ancient ghost trees that thrived within its bounds.

These ghost trees stood tall and robust, their veiny branches piercing the sky, blocking even the most radiant rays of sunlight. The forest was enveloped in a heavy fog, giving it an otherworldly appearance.

The gnarled trunks of the trees twisted and contorted, resembling serpents frozen in time. Every step Lin Yang took caused an ominous creaking sound, amplifying the eerie and haunting atmosphere.

Gazing upward, he spotted hollowed tree cavities that resembled malevolent faces, their yawning darkness seemingly hungry for any living being that dared to approach. A shiver crept up Lin Yang's spine, a chilling sensation that fueled his curiosity rather than deterring him.

"The Yin Qi is dense here. Not a bad omen at all!" Lin Yang mused, noticing a few white skeletons scattered among the forest. A short distance away, he discovered rusty weapons, remnants of a forgotten era. The place exuded an air of malevolence, but Lin Yang's determination remained unwavering. With a hint of seriousness etched on his face, he proceeded to venture deeper into the forest.

His footsteps were graceful and nimble, a testament to his agility and precision. Yet, his every movement emitted an aura of power, as if his very pores were brimming with an indomitable strength. He traversed the forest like a shadow, effortlessly navigating the terrain and moving with purpose.

With each step, bones grated and spiritual energy surged, signaling Lin Yang's continuous improvement and growth. He was constantly progressing, his every stride accompanied by the explosive release of his Qi.

The aura around him was vigorous and sharp, releasing a powerful destructive nature.

Even a ferocious tiger would flee upon seeing him!

Awoo!

Suddenly, a wolf howl came from the depths of the forest!

The fast-moving figure instantly froze like a gust of wind. It seemed to hesitate for a moment, and then quickly swept forward like a bolt of lightning.

Seeing a stranger appear, a giant wolf immediately howled. In an instant, the forest was filled with murderous intent.

One by one, the giant wolves stood up. Their bodies were the size of calves, and their eerie green eyes flickered with greed and cruelty.

"A wolf pack?" Lin Yang's expression changed abruptly.
