There was no doubt about it—this thing was something Midoriya Izuku had created himself. Of course, he wouldn't mistake his own work. But an AOE weapon doesn't care who made it; it just takes down everything in its range.
Midoriya's face turned pale with fear. The people in the bar also realized things were about to go south and quickly backed away. However, the pale yellow smoke spread at an alarming speed, rapidly filling the entire bar.
"Kurogiri, open a portal now!"
At the critical moment, Shigaraki Tomura gave the order, and Kurogiri immediately activated his portal. If he didn't act fast, they were all going down.
There was no time to think. Just as Midoriya was about to jump into Kurogiri's portal, he heard a tapping sound on the window.
In the midst of the chaos, he glanced to the side—and saw Bakugo Katsuki.
His appearance was a little odd, but there he was, hovering outside the building and knocking on the window while gesturing at him.
Midoriya was full of questions, but now wasn't the time for that. As the yellow smoke threatened to engulf the entire bar, he made a split-second decision and sprinted toward the window.
Noticing Midoriya's sudden movement, Shigaraki followed his gaze and immediately understood the situation. But there was no time to worry about it now—he and the others quickly stepped into Kurogiri's portal. If they hesitated, they were done for.
The window shattered as Midoriya burst through.
Bakugo grabbed his hand, but Midoriya's weight pulled them both downward.
Bakugo had planned to use an explosion to slow their fall just before landing, but what Midoriya did next caught him completely off guard.
With his right hand, Midoriya extended five steel-like wires, wrapping them around obstacles on the building's walls to slow their descent. Thanks to that, both he and Bakugo managed to land safely from over a hundred meters high.
"You…"
"Now's not the time to talk. We need to get out of here."
Before Bakugo could even ask about the obvious display of a Quirk, Midoriya signaled for him and the two others below to move quickly. This was the League of Villains' territory, after all.
Todoroki Shoto and the others had just finished their mission upstairs and immediately took the elevator down to regroup with Midoriya. This was part of Ochako's plan.
The idea was to have Hatsume Mei use that terrifying weapon to launch an AOE attack on the League of Villains, while Bakugo would swoop in from above to catch Midoriya. Judging by how things turned out, the plan had worked perfectly.
There was no time to talk. Midoriya led them in a full sprint, not stopping until they were three kilometers away from the waterfront building. This was the same area where All Might and All For One had fought before—now an abandoned wasteland.
Here, they wouldn't be spotted by civilians, and they could temporarily stay out of the League of Villains' sight. Even if Kurogiri wanted to teleport over, he would need specific coordinates.
"Why are you all here?"
Still catching his breath, Midoriya looked at the group in front of him.
Hatsume Mei, Takeyama Urei, Ochako, Bakugo, Shinso, and Todoroki—though they had all disguised themselves, Midoriya could still recognize them.
He just hadn't expected them to show up at the League of Villains' base and cause all this chaos.
"You left without a word! Everyone has something to say to you!"
"I did say goodbye, didn't I?"
Takeyama Urei pouted in frustration, but Midoriya just looked troubled.
He was sure he had said "goodbye" to everyone before leaving.
"I don't count that as a real goodbye, you idiot!"
"I actually agree with this explosion maniac for once. Midoriya, do you really not see us as your friends?"
Bakugo Katsuki, looking furious, had unexpectedly found common ground with Shinso Hitoshi. Both of them were clearly unhappy with Midoriya's decision to leave.
"Midoriya, all of us in the class still believe in you."
"We came here to check on you. Do you need any help?"
Uraraka's words carried the support of their entire class, while Todoroki was deeply worried about the possibility of Midoriya joining the League of Villains. He had come along specifically to see if Midoriya needed help.
"Midoriya-chan~ I came to bring you something~"
Hatsume Mei cheerfully dug through the pockets of her utility belt. She had brought something personally, just for him.
Just as Midoriya Izuku was about to awkwardly apologize to his friends, he suddenly tensed up and turned around.
A dark mist appeared out of thin air—it was Kurogiri's warp gate. A hand reached out from within, and soon, an entire figure stepped through.
"Let's see… U.A. brats? How interesting… We invaded your school last time, and now you're repaying the favor by attacking our base?"
Shigaraki Tomura had arrived. And he wasn't alone. One by one, other members of the League of Villains stepped out of the portal.
To put it bluntly, aside from Magne, who had been taken down, the rest of them had run away faster than rats, escaping through Kurogiri's portal before they could be caught.
"The… League of Villains..."
Ochako's voice trembled as she looked at the people before her. She hadn't forgotten the U.S.J. attack, nor what happened during their training camp in the forest. This was now the third time she had to face these terrifying enemies. Saying she wasn't scared would be a lie.
"Tch... Annoying pests!"
Bakugo Katsuki, warming up with small explosions in his hands, wasn't the type to back down. If they ran into the League of Villains, then it was a fight worth having.
"You guys go first. We'll handle this."
"Sorry for dragging you all into this."
Todoroki Shoto and Shinso Hitoshi stepped forward, standing protectively in front of the three girls. As guys, it was their job to hold the line.
"How interesting. Let's finish what was interrupted at U.A.—I'll kill a few students and send them as a gift to All Might!"
Shigaraki Tomura signaled his men to get ready. Having their base attacked like this was a huge embarrassment—there was no way they wouldn't retaliate.
As Bakugo, Todoroki, and Shinso prepared for battle, a hand suddenly reached out, stopping them.
It was Midoriya Izuku.
"Step back. I'll handle this."
"Midoriya...?"
They couldn't believe it. It was Midoriya Izuku who had stepped forward, facing off against the entire League of Villains.
"Oi, kid! We're your comrades now, aren't we?!"
"Comrades?"
Spinner, who looked like a lizard, sneered. But what he got in return was Midoriya Izuku's ice-cold gaze, devoid of any warmth.
A silver flash cut through the air.
No one saw what had happened.
Spinner's words abruptly stopped.
And then… his head slowly separated from his body, blood spraying everywhere.
"Sorry, but trash like you isn't worthy of being my comrade."
Midoriya Izuku's voice was chilling.
Everyone there felt a coldness deep in their bones.
What had he become?
