Chapter 26

"Eron!" Kaden barked as soon as the door shut behind him. He turned to look at the elder. "How could you entertain this? Have you all lost your senses?"

"Control yourself, Prince Kaden," Eron said evenly, his gaze sharp. "We are not blind to the risks, but neither are we blind to the opportunities she presents."

"Opportunities?" Kaden spat, his voice rising. "You think trusting a stranger with a vial of glowing liquid is an opportunity? She's manipulating you, all of you. She's no savior—she's a snake."

Callan stepped forward, his expression stern. "And what have you done, Kaden? What solutions have you offered? All we hear from you is resistance and yet you offer no path forward."

Kaden's jaw tightened as he turned to Marek, the quietest of the three. "You can't believe this," he said, his voice quieter now but no less desperate. "You've always been cautious, Marek. You have always been wise. You've always valued reason over haste."
