A Visit to Another World

MC POV

Now that the USJ incident was over, the school was giving students time to prepare for the Sports Festival. This meant I finally had time to look into Sirius's matter and help him and Rose. It was about time we made some progress in freeing him.

I opened the chat and typed,

[@Blade]: I have some time off from work. After a few hours, I'll visit your world, Rose to look into Sirius case and see if I can help.

Rose was surprised by my quick response. [@Pottah]: So quickly? Okay, I'll wait for your arrival and inform Sirius's too. I'll just tell him you're a friend I made while staying at the Dursley's.

I chuckled. It was a good cover story. Telling people I was from another world would obviously cause more problems than solutions. I decided to go with the story I'd prepared for situations like this—posing as a private detective from Japan that Sirius had hired to look into his case.

With that sorted, it was time to inform Nezu and Naomasa. I needed an excuse for my absence. I crafted a believable lie, claiming that I was looking into the murder case I'd been working on. They would probably think of the recent one and It would keep them from growing suspicious if they couldn't reach me for a while. I simply messaged them and went home to get my stuff.

A few hours later after I got everything I needed and stored it in the storage space, I arrived near a park that seemed quite peaceful. I messaged Rose,

[@Blade]: I've arrived in London. I'll reach your place in a few minutes.

I spread out my senses, using spiritual energy to locate her, which wasn't too difficult. Once I found her, I moved slowly toward her location, taking my time to familiarize myself with old London. The architecture here was vastly different from Japan's. There was a certain charm to the aged brick buildings and narrow streets, though I couldn't shake the feeling of magic that hung in the air.

As I approached 12 Grimmauld Place, I saw Rose standing outside the front door, waiting for me. She smiled as we greeted each other.

"Welcome," she said, leading me inside.

Sirius was already there, waiting. He looked like he had just finished pacing. When he saw me, his gaze shifted to Rose, a smirk playing on his lips.

"So, you're the friend Rose made while she was staying at the Dursleys?" Sirius asked with a raised eyebrow. "Private detective from Japan, huh? Sounds very mysterious. What else should I know about you, Mr. Shiro Emiya?"

I introduced myself properly, giving a slight bow. "Shiro Emiya, a private detective. It's nice to meet you, Sir."

Sirius chuckled, waving a hand. "There's no need for the 'sir'. You can just call me Sirius. And please, don't stand on formality. I didn't know little Rose had a boyfriend!"

Rose immediately flushed, her cheeks going bright red. "He's not my boyfriend, Sirius!"

I chuckled, but decided not to add fuel to the fire. Sirius seemed to enjoy teasing her. It was nice to see him more relaxed. I figured after everything he'd been through, a little lightheartedness was good for him.

Once the teasing was over, Sirius dove into his story—the same one I already knew from the books and movies. He explained how he wasn't the secret keeper, how Pettigrew had betrayed the Potters, and how he had been framed for murder.

"The problem," I said after listening carefully, "is that we need concrete proof that Pettigrew is alive. Without that, it's going to be difficult to clear your name."

Sirius sighed and ran a hand through his long hair. "I've been through this in my head a thousand times. Every detail. It seems impossible to get proof."

Rose, who had been silent for a while, suddenly chimed in. "Maybe we could find something that Pettigrew left behind… you know, a strand of hair, something personal. We know he was with the Weasleys for a long time as Scabbers."

"Good point," I said, nodding. "We might find something in the places he frequented while he was hiding at the Weasley's. It's a long shot, but it's worth a try."

Sirius seemed hopeful, though still wary. "If you can find anything, we'll have a fighting chance."

We continued discussing potential leads, talking about Pettigrew's habits and the places he might have been. It was clear we had a lot of work ahead of us. The challenge wasn't finding Pettigrew—that part was simple enough for me with all my abilities but that would cause Voldemorts band of buffons to go after Sirius and Rose—but proving his identity would be tricky.

After a while, dinner was ready. We ate together, the atmosphere surprisingly warm and familial. Sirius was much more laid-back than I expected, and Rose seemed happy to be in his company. Throughout the meal, Sirius kept prodding me with questions, wanting to know more about Japan, my life as a detective, and even my training. Of course, I had to give vague answers, careful not to reveal too much about myself.

Once we finished dinner, we settled into some light conversation before calling it a night. Rose showed me to the guest room, and after saying our goodnights, I lay down, thinking over everything we had discussed.

The case wasn't going to be easy, but I was confident we could manage. After all, Rose was counting on me to help, and I couldn't let her down. I also had to be mindful of how much I showed in terms of my abilities. This wasn't my world, after all. Blending in while still solving the case was the goal.

With that thought in mind, I drifted off to sleep.
