Requests

Hello!

Author here,

You can skip this part if you don't want to read it as the summary of this is I appreciate the support you guys have shown towards this Fic.

To be honest when I wrote this Fic using the AI I didn't think this would get views becuase of the disdain of AI written Fic's. Now today, I saw this on the Ranking list while trying to find something good to read and after I opened it I saw it has 245k views which I never really imagined. I also found out today that you can see the Data stats on phone too, I uploaded 1-3 chapters using my laptop which someone dropped a coffee on in the library and when I returned it has already stopped working, I didn't find who was behind it as apparently where I was sitting was not visible to the camera cuz of the bookshelf. So I started using my phone to write which makes it harder to edit the chapters. Anyway thanks alot to everyone who is reading this.

Chapter starts:-

As I made my way to Nezu's office, my mind ran through the possible topics of conversation. I had overheard some 3rd-year students talking about internships and how there has been requests made to Nezu for me to take on interns myself. That would make sense. Nezu calling me in was likely connected to that.

Problem was, I wasn't too keen on it. I have worked hard to keep my true capabilities under wraps, and bringing in interns meant risking that secret. But, if Nezu or Aizawa asked me to consider it seriously, I'd probably give in. It wasn't just that they were my bosses but because they had protected me for the last three years. Both the Hero Association and the government had tried to get their hands on me for different reasons. The Association wanted to use me for their own agenda, while the government wanted to silence me after I nearly exposed a White Room-like program they'd been running due to my sudden appearance. That was one of the reasons I accepted a position at UA, hoping it would keep the Hero Association at bay.

I knocked on the door, waiting for a reply.

"Enter."

I stepped inside to find both Nezu and Aizawa waiting. 'Just great,' I thought. If both of them were here, it was probably becuase of the requests. Looks like my guess was right.

"Good to see you, Shiro," Nezu greeted with his typical cheery demeanor. "We have something to discuss with you."

I gave a nod, walking to take a seat. "I figured. What about it?"

Aizawa was leaning against the wall, arms crossed, his usual tired expression in place. "We've had a few inquiries about you taking on interns for the upcoming round. Second and third years are interested."

I raised an eyebrow. "Me? I'm not sure I'm the right fit for that."

Nezu tilted his head slightly. "Oh? And why is that?"

I sighed. "Well, for one, I don't have an official agency, and two, I tend to work better alone. I'm more effective that way."

Aizawa scoffed softly. "You've been at UA for three years now, Shiro. You're more than capable of handling interns."

"Besides," Nezu added with a twinkle in his eyes, "your work as a detective has made you a prime candidate. Students admire your experience."

I leaned back in the chair, trying to figure out a way around this. "Look, I'm flattered, really. But I don't think I'm ready to take on that responsibility."

Nezu chuckled softly, "It seems the students disagree. You've built a reputation, Shiro. They want to learn from someone who's been out in the field, someone who has real-world experience. You've already made an impact just by being here."

I glanced at Aizawa, who gave me a silent look that spoke volumes. He knew I wasn't keen on this. He also knew it was pointless to argue once Nezu had made up his mind.

"I get that," I said slowly. "But do you really think I'm the right person to mentor anyone? I mean, I don't exactly follow the traditional hero mold."

Aizawa shrugged. "That's precisely why they want to learn from you. The way you operate isn't typical, and they find that intriguing. Besides, not every hero needs to be a shining beacon of hope. Some of us work better in the shadows."

Nezu smiled, leaning forward. "And you, Shiro, are the perfect example of that balance. The students who want to intern with you know that. They see your skillset as something valuable. You'd be able to teach them things they couldn't learn from a standard hero."

I rubbed the back of my neck, feeling a little cornered. It wasn't that I didn't want to help the students—I just didn't want to risk them finding out too much.

"Let's say I agree," I started, "what's the plan? Am I expected to take on multiple interns?"

Nezu waved a paw dismissively. "Oh no, not necessarily. You can take on as many or as few as you like. Even just one intern would suffice."

"And if I screw this up?" I asked, half-jokingly.

Aizawa finally cracked a small smile. "You won't."

I exhaled, knowing I was beaten. "Alright, fine. I'll think about it. But I'm not making any promises."

"That's all we ask," Nezu said, his smile widening. "We'll notify the interested students that you're considering it. Take your time with the decision."

Aizawa uncrossed his arms, pushing off the wall. "Just remember, Shiro—there's more to being a hero than just doing the work. Mentoring could help you in ways you haven't considered."

I gave a non-committal grunt, standing up. "Right. Thanks for the vote of confidence."

As I left the office, I couldn't shake the feeling that I was walking into a trap. Not a malicious one, but a trap nonetheless. I knew I could handle interns on a surface level, but what about when they started asking questions? What if they pushed too far and I had to show them what I was really capable of? That's a risk I couldn't afford to take.

The hallway was quiet as I walked back toward the teachers' lounge. My mind was buzzing with possibilities. Who would even want to intern with me? I wasn't exactly a social butterfly like some of the other heroes around here. Sure, I had my moments, but those were few and far between.

I leaned against the wall outside the lounge, pulling out the chat interface to check on the group. Maybe talking to the others would help clear my mind.

Rose had sent a few messages earlier about her return to Hogwarts for her fourth year, and Peter was going on about some new upgrade to his web-shooters. Hinata was progressing well with her training, and Bruce was still trying to miniaturize his Arc Reactor. Everyone seemed to be making strides in their own way. It was a strange comfort, knowing they were out there doing their thing while I was here dealing with this.

I sent a quick message back, telling them about the internship situation. Rose responded almost immediately.

[@Pottah:] "I think you'd be a great mentor! You've already helped me so much."

I smiled faintly. Rose was always encouraging.

[@Web_Slinger] "Yeah, I'd totally intern with you if I could! You've got the whole "cool, mysterious hero" thing going on."

I shook my head, amused. Of course Peter would think that.

[@Byakugan_Princess]: "Maybe it's a good chance to teach others what you've learned. You've got a lot of experience, Shiro."

I sighed, leaning my head back against the wall. Maybe they were right. Maybe this could be a good opportunity.

But that didn't mean I had to like it.

This was going to be an interesting few days.
