Internship 5

MC POV

The mornings had become a routine. I'd get up before sunrise, take some time to train myself, then gather the students I was responsible for to put them through rigorous training in martial arts. While they were still focused on the robbery case during the day, the early mornings were reserved for something more foundational—combat training. No matter how strong a quirk was, in a world of uncertainty, they needed to be able to rely on more than just their abilities.

I had been especially focused on Momo lately. Her quirk, Creation, had an incredible amount of potential. And i could create an Walmart version of Archer Emiya from Fate. She could make anything non-living as long as she knew its structure. But her combat style? Well, she was a little too dependent on her quirk as a crutch, using it mainly to create shields or defensive weapons. That needed to change.

As I stood across from her in the gym, the rest of the group working in pairs behind us, I watched her create a simple staff, preparing herself for sparring. She had made progress, but there was so much more she could do.

"Momo," I called out, grabbing her attention. "I want you to try something different."

She furrowed her brow, the staff fading as she awaited my instructions. "Different how, sensei?"

I gestured toward the weapon racks I had lined up earlier. They were filled with swords, bows, daggers, and even a few modern firearms. "You're limiting yourself. Your quirk can create anything non-living, right? But you've been sticking to basic weapons. That's good for now, but what if you could create more advanced weapons? Guns, for example. Or how about technologically advance weapons?"

Momo gave me a confused look. "Advanced how?"

I pointed to her staff that she often used. "Take your staff, for example. It's useful, but imagine it had tech in it—something like retractable blades or an inbuilt energy core to enhance its impact."

Her eyes lit up slightly. "You mean... mixing technology into my creations? Like a fusion of a traditional weapon with modern innovations?"

"Exactly. You're already good with the basics. Now it's time to make weapons that are as smart as you are," I replied. "But remember, it's not about making the weapon overly complicated; it's about efficiency and control."

She nodded thoughtfully. "What should I start with?"

I handed her a sketch of a sword with integrated tech. "Try this design. It's a sword with a high-frequency blade—meaning it vibrates at an incredible speed, making it capable of cutting through almost anything. You can use tech to replicate the vibrations. Start with that, and we'll move forward."

Momo stared at the design for a moment, then took a deep breath. She created the sword in her hand, feeling its weight and balance. "It's heavier than I expected."

I nodded. "That's because of the added components. But once you get used to it, you'll see its advantages. Now, try using it."

She took a stance and swung the sword, getting a feel for it. The moment it activated, a faint hum filled the air, and I could tell she was getting more confident with every swing. She looked at me after a few moments, her expression filled with determination.

"This... this could really work," she said, a small smile forming.

"It's only the beginning. You'll learn to create even more advanced weapons over time, but for now, this is a good start." I gestured for her to step back. "Next, let's talk ranged weapons."

"Ranged?" she repeated, clearly intrigued.

"Yes. Swords are great, but you'll need versatility in combat. If you can mix technology into bows, crossbows, and even firearms, you'll become a force to be reckoned with. I want you to focus on efficiency—make a weapon that's quick to create, easy to use, and effective from a distance."

We spent the rest of the morning going over different weapons—swords with hidden tech, guns with non-lethal functions, bows that could fire energy-based arrows. Each time Momo created something new, her confidence grew.

"Think about it this way," I told her after a while. "Your quirk gives you almost limitless potential. You just have to understand what you're making on a fundamental level. Study the technology. Study weapon designs. You can create something no one else can."

Momo looked at me thoughtfully, clearly processing everything. "I see. If I understand how the technology works, I can make weapons that adapt to any situation. It's not just about making something to fight with—it's about creating something that fits the scenario perfectly."

"Exactly," I said with a nod. "You're getting it."

As we continued, I couldn't help but think about the fact that while Momo could create these things, my powers allowed me to actually manifest anything I could comprehend. Herrscher of Reason gave me the ability to recreate my body or anything I understood, I could bring into reality. But unlike Momo, I couldn't afford to reveal that level of power, not yet at least.

Once we were done, Momo turned to me, holding the high-frequency blade in her hand. "Thank you, Shiro-sensei. I feel like I'm starting to see my quirk differently now."

"Good," I said. "That's the point of training. It's not just about becoming stronger physically; it's about understanding your strengths and applying them in ways others wouldn't expect."

As she left to practice, I moved on to the next student. Today had been productive, and Momo's progress was clear. Now, I had to prepare for tomorrow, where the students would need to combine their skills and quirks for the mission.

Either way, I had to continue playing the long game. For now, the focus was on the students and ensuring their success. Tomorrow would bring new challenges, but at least for today, I could say we made significant progress.
