"Jiang Fan, I regret it!"
When Xu Yining realized that the useless fiancé she would rather die than marry had taken her sister as his wife and transformed her into a powerful empress, she was filled with regret.
If she could do it all over again, she definitely wouldn't have petulantly let her sister marry in her stead!
Overall it's a good read. I like how there is no system and it's just the MC working hard, getting opportunities, the good old cultivation story. The lifespan evolution based on cultivation level is a bit weird compared to other novels (very low lifespan for people able to crush mountains), maybe translation issue or a choice from the author. One very big pain point is the forced drama to force the face-slapping tag... Like the MC being recognized by a senior as a talented person and juniors still saying BS like "I think the senior is wrong for acknowledging you". It decreases as we go but that was a big road block to continue reading for me.
Okay, first of all the story itself (or the synopsis) is kind of interesting. The power scaling is pretty balanced albeit some inconsistencies like the lifespan for each realm or something. Now, let's talk about the characters. Although the world building of the novel is interesting. The characters are built poorly, especially the MC, he's supposed to be portrayed as a cautious person, but only appears to be cowardly and sometimes make outrageous decisions. The author lacks the ability to show the potential of the novel and just basically throws in forced "dramas" and keeps introducing characters one after another. I've read until chapter 40 and the whole "marriage" issue is unbearable. The MC would resolve a problem and another one would pop up, the author doesn't even put a time for the MC's training. And if they do put one, they don't explain in more detail what the MC did, they just tell how the MC broke through a realm and that's it. I don't know if it gets good in later chapters but I'll give it a go and just put a more elaborate review after I catch up with the lastest chaps. Another thing, some item ranks are kind of confusing and inconsistent. Especially the Qi Cultivation Liquid which has "Top Grade" and "top-grade" quality. I mean what's the difference? The author doesn't even put a short note at the ending of each chapter to clarify the items, artifacts, and power rankings. Overall, it lacks the depth and logic. It has potential but unless the author learns how to properly bring out those potential it would remain as a low quality work. Not here to undermine them, but I hope with this comment they would put more effort in improving their work and not get discouraged. You're still doing a great job author but you need to put in a little bit more work. (Well they wouldn't follow any suggestions if they're writing this novel just to earn and not provide quality entertainment to the readers anyways.)
Great book, slightly repetitive sub-story line and realization of underestimating character, but entertaining. Wish it updated chapters faster :)
Smart lead, over drawn conversation, taking advantage of bad actions. Yes, i am still reading because it can hype to important battles.
I'm more than half way caught up now and the story is entertaining still. more to say later.
Just started reading. so far so good. look forward to seeing how it goes.
Really enjoy the story thusfar, nice story line and characters on nothing of the sytem skills and points or extraterrestial nonsense
I don't leave reviews, but this book sucks so bad. Whoever leaves a review higher than 2.5 stars has to be mentally crippled. EVERYONE, I repeat EVERYONE is brainless. No one seems to have a single shared braincell amongst them, and each face slap moment is so artificially created, that it just breaks your immersiveness. Eg. Sect Master admires MC, wants MC to join her sect. MC has shown his immense talent etc etc. In order to get him to her sect, she bets AGAINST his victory. LIKE WTF Genuinely lost braincells reading this, read at your own risk.
interesting reading. there's always a higher mountain to climb. sometimes quite surprising too.
There are some decent incentives to read this. The world is fairly consistent and the power level's feel fine for a xianxia. Sadly, this story lacks characters with brain. The main point in this novel is that the MC has a Spirit Root that transcends the measurement of their machine so everyone thinks that he has no Spirit Root. But it was specifically stated that without spirit root you couldn't cultivate. Everyone seems to ignore every and any achievement the MC makes. Literally. For example. - The MC levels up from 0 to Foundation establishment 3'rd level in like a month or so (that's like 12 level ups) while most patriarchs in his town are 1'st level Foundation establishment at like 40 to 50 yo. Yet no one comments how he is a genius and such, he's still seen as a waste for some reason. - When the sect arc starts, the MC is yet again seen as a waste with no Spirit Root and his cultivation of 3'rd level FE is seen as overdrawing his potential(which is so stupid, if reaching that level was so easy, why didn't every single normal human with no spirit roots overdraw their potential to be stronger then clan Patriarchs?). Even after doing things like comprehending impossible moves, showing sword powers bigger then the strongest in the sect and wining the whole damn sect tournament arc, he's still seen as worthless. They don't even try to measure his Spirit Root again, just taking the words of that idiot elder at face value. -Another thing is how he literally raises the level of his wives Spirit Root, something seen as impossible, ofc, yet no one bats an eye after the initial face slap. No one asks him how in the world does he posses such magical pills. Or this that if he can do that, maybe he hides his spirit root or something. No, it's just there for 1 face slap then never mentioned again...
what a story very very nice hahahahahahahahahahaha
The title of the novel fits, every fucking character in this novel has an empty head. This novel is the epitome of being utterly braindead, the MTL translation is utterly horrid and can't even differentiate between amounts of money and grades. The characters existence is supported by sheer stupidity, not atoms, you heard me, out of sheer and utter stupidity. They seem to be biological lifeforms stuck in the cavemen part of evolution, and, as you might have guessed, the MC is on the lower end of this spectrum. Advise for every author publishing MTL novels: PROOF. READ. THEM. And please improve the story while you are at it.
Waste of your damn time. Face slapping novel with zero dimensional characters. Mc let’s others dogpile over him, and you feel like utter shit even when he finally slaps them back. Stopped reading because it was so cringe. Even fiction novels are non-fiction in front of this.
amazing novel, good writing art, I'm hooked...
too brainless. the setups for face slapping are unbearably foolish, utterly unbelievable. prime example, this guy has supposedly 9 lvl talent but no one bothers to test even a second time to add to that the testing machine inexplicably broke bckz MCs talent is too op causing it to falsely elevate generic love rivals test to 9 (he just happened to be on the next talent testing room). completely immersion breaking, one simply ignore such unbelievable storytelling. this is the demonic dao of webnovels.
