"Tiantian, when are you coming back to China?"
Liu Xiuzhi held a clunky flip phone, surrounded by neighbors full of envy, but she was already used to it.
She didn't care about their jealous looks and shouted into the phone, "Didn't you graduate already? Why haven't you come back?"
Who knows what He Tiantian said on the other end, but Liu Xiuzhi burst out laughing, "Okay, okay, Mom's waiting!"
Liu Xiuzhi again reminded her on the phone to take care of her health and to come back to China sooner—it had been more than a year since she last saw her daughter.
But what worried her more was the cost of the phone call—it's an international call, charges apply both ways... Although Liu Xiuzhi had money, she reluctantly hung up the phone.
"So? Tiantian hasn't come back yet?"
After Liu Xiuzhi hung up, amidst envying glares, she gingerly hung the phone around her neck and asked with feigned concern.
