Chapter 157: Into the Wolf's Den

Fu Rongyin's voice on the other end of the phone was terrifyingly deep, "Are you sure it was the two of them who met and even had a pleasant conversation?"

Chi Yue felt a chill down her spine.

Even if she were foolish, she knew Fu Rongyin was investigating her, especially after the drastic change in her attitude within one day; anyone not blind could tell something was amiss.

The sound in the living room abruptly stopped, and Chi Yue quickly closed the door and dove into her bed.

In the darkness, the door opened, and she heard footsteps approaching, stopping right in front of her bed.

Chi Yue's hands under the blanket clutched the bedding tightly, fearing that she might accidentally give herself away.

However, the anticipated confrontation did not happen. Fu Rongyin just stood by the bed for a while before leaving.

Hearing the sound of the main door closing, Chi Yue let out a deep sigh of relief.
