Jimmy stopped his wild speculations in time; mulling over it would only make him feel more bombarded. He forced himself to continue reviewing the case files; he was only lacking two reports to wrap up the torture that the taxi driver case had been for over a month.

As he sorted through the material, Jimmy suddenly thought of something: Dave's apartment had been ransacked once—could it be related? He immediately called the forensics department to see if they had found anything.

The result was not good; although many places had been sampled, the fingerprints belonged only to Dave. The person who had rummaged through the room might have worn gloves or, like Dave, covered their hands in glue, leaving no usable fingerprints behind.
