The tall fir trees stretched straight towards the sky, and even in the cold, harsh winter, they still looked lush, their small, slender leaves spreading out in all directions, earnestly soaking up every ray of sunlight.

As a child, Ireya hadn't quite understood why their ancestors chose to plant such a common fir tree in this location—a type that could be seen everywhere in the west—instead of picking a more beautiful and special tree.

But now, as she looked up again, she suddenly realized that this tree was like her family, ordinary yet resilient.
