CHAPTER 4

He entered with a sad expression, his eyes combing around the room. He found the apartment littered and unkempt without being told he knew what had happened.

Donald could hear noise coming from his room; he stood at the spot as he tried to grasp what the sound was and where it was coming from.

He could hear clearly, and immediately he stride towards his bedroom. He pushed the door open, and his eyes widened in horror and disbelief. He found his wife moaning loudly with her legs spread apart while being struck deeply by a man.

Donald felt his heart sink into his stomach when he saw the man's face, it was none other than his boss at the hotel, Mr. Benson.

They were so engulfed in what they were doing that they didn't know when he entered the room.

"What is going on here?" Donald questioned with a serious voice.

Pamela and Benson stopped, glancing at him, but continued with what they were doing. Donald could hear her moan, each sound sending pain towards his body.

"What are you doing here, Donald? Have you gone mad, can't you knock before coming inside." Pamela sneered.

Benson sat on the bed as an evil smile formed on the side of his lips.

"Pamela, Why do you have to betray me? Why did you, after everything we have shared and been through." He voices with pain in his heart.

Pamela glanced at him from head to toe, and she let out a little chuckle while still sitting on the bed and using the duvet to cover her body.

"Look who is talking about betrayal. Donald, please don't get me upset. I have been married to you for three years, and I haven't gotten anything from the marriage. Look at when you are coming back home. What did you come with nothing."

She sighed, "This man you see here has been the one taking care of me. He got me the biggest birthday present ever, something which you couldn't dream to afford."

Donald gritted his teeth as he stared at the two people before him. "Was that why you decided to cheat on me with my boss?" He chirped.

"Who is your boss, Donald? The last time I checked, you got fired, and you are jobless." Mr. Benson said smiling.

Pamela and Benson giggled uncontrollably,

"You see, Donald. I can't stay with a jobless man. Look at yourself, ain't you ashamed. I have been the one feeding, clothing and providing for you. Where do you think I get all the money from? Mr. Benson has been the one providing everything you see, including the car I drive around the city."

"Pamela, you know I have been working hard for us. I thought you loved me for who I am." He uttered.

"I don't love you, and I can't never love a broke-ass bastard like you." Pamela bawled at him.

Donald was holding himself, he felt crimson after being betrayed by the only person he had loved.

Pamela moved towards the lower drawer and she took out a blue file. She threw it at his face.

"Donald, I have always wanted to do this but I was having doubts. That's the divorce papers, I want you to sign it and leave my life." She stated firmly.

Donald felt his heart stabbed, he stared at her with his mouth agape in shock. He opened the file and couldn't believe his eyes when he saw her signature and her name boldly written.

"Sign the goddamn file and leave my beautiful princess, you are not worthy to be her husband," Benson said.

Donald swallowed his saliva, as he drew a deep breath. "Is this what you want Pamela,"

"Oh yes, Donald. This is what I have always wanted; you can't give it to me how I want it; you are useless and a pauper." She blared.

Donald sighed and appended his signature in the designated area. After which he threw the file towards them.

"You both will regret what you have done to me, I will make sure you pay." He said with his eyes blazing with fury.

"Look who will make me regret, someone I just fired. What else do you want, I think I have an idea. I will inform my guard to beat you mercilessly whenever they set their eyes on you." He said as a small smile curved on his lips.

Donald walked out of the room and shut the door. On his way out, he could hear Pamela moan loudly; he felt disappointed, as his mind was engulfed with hatred and sorrow.

Donald and Pamela have been married for three years. Donald and his ex-wife Pamela were both orphans, but the difference between them was that Pamela's family left a small business and a house for her, while Donald was left with nothing but to survive on his own.

They got married two years before the death of Pamela's mother. Mrs. Beatrice. She was in support of the marriage and even had to sponsor it.

"I will make sure you suffer for what you have done to me. Each and every one of you will go through the same pain I am going through right now." He said to himself.

It was late; Donald looked around the city of Louisville. He didn't know where to stay, so he pranced around looking for a place to sleep. He thought about going towards the beggars spot.

He glance around and couldn't find the old man he gives money or food whenever he has. He asked the other beggar that was lying down quietly, but he got no response.

He found the old man's stuff still there, Donald was worried that something might have happened to him. He was confused, couldn't help but find a place to stay while he thought about going looking for the old man the next day.

He sat at the old man's space and he decided to rest. Upon resting, Donald could hear noise coming from the other side of the road. He raised his gaze and found the beggar beside him on his feet.

"What is going on," he asked the beggar.

"The police are coming, they are coming for us. Run and don't let them catch you." The beggars screamed while running fast.

Donald got to his feet, and found two policemen coming towards his direction, without hesitation Donald ran as fast as possible, was looking back while running unknown to him a vehicle was coming with speed, Donald was hit by the car and he fell to the floor, with his vision becoming blurred until he fell unconscious.
