Opeining his inventory Alex took put his verdant fire seed and placed it in the first slot to grow. When the sub-system linked the world laws to alex, it meant that the environment inside the herb plots was directly related to his curent state. He had more qi, so did they, the constructs in his mind space became stronger, the 'quality' of the herb plots were enhanced, his body was stronger, the soil was richer, his rank was higher the plots were bigger, etc etc.

What this all meant was that the more broken Alex was the better the environment for the herbs. And seeing as he had a replica sun made from the energy's of the actual sun, he had a pretty good environment for a fire seed to grow, it would be better if he had something wood related however.

Add to that the fact that the ground the seed was planted in was multitudes better the what the original seed had and the higher leves of qi, the fire seed was practically born with a platinum spoon.

Now, was Alex treating the dormant form of a flame created out of pure qi as a common plant seed? Yes. Was he making it work? Also yes. the seed enterd the herb plot and 'planted' itself into the ground, forming a guardian around it as even with these levels of qi it was to little to 'bloom'.

From the surpunding space, traces of sun qi from the sun began to fuel the seed, cultivating it as it formed its guardian. Like the original seed the guardian was a tree, but unlike the original seeds tree, which appeared as just a bigger mortal tree. Alexs fire seed formed a small sprout above it, the sprouts stem a lustres green while the two small leaves above were a deep red. Tiny roots dug into the soil, wrapping around the seed, drawing in more sun qi from the 'sky' while also forming wood qi from the soil to nurture the seed and itself.

Leaving the fire seed alone for now after doing something that would baffle both herbalist's and alchemist's alike, Alex got back to travelling. There were many sight to enjoy in the wilderness, at night thousands of stars came out to dot the vast blackness of the sky, while the moon bathed the ground in a silver light. And in the day the birds flew through the trees that bathed in the sun's lights.

That and caravans of merchants heading from one city to the next. Not that alex cared about most of these sights while he travelled at a good 60km an hour on foot for hours on end. Most forests and grass plain became blurs when you ran that fast. 'I really need to make travel technique. Just using a combination of what's effectively a video game dash and a fighting movement technique is not efficient in the slightest. Good for experience though, it's given me some nice ideas to improve both.'

So Alex got to that, as he travelled he began to develop a long distance travel technique, [flash step] alowed him to reach around 160km an hour with no run up for short distances, while [serpents dance] was focused on complex and confusing twists and turns to corner your opponent for a strike. Neither of these where usefull for travelling long distance.

Sudden extreme speed wasen't needed, and neither was hyper complex movemnt. What he needed was sustainable, high speed, one direction travel. Alexs genral plan was to create the opposite of [flash step]. He was going to make a technique that would start with just his sprinting speed but would use the momentum caused from running, along with inner qi, to create increasing speed, which inturn would speed him up further, and further and further.

Of course this growth would be slow, but steady, and once it reached a certain point he could leave the travel to just running along, the technique going into 'passive mode', using the existing momentum to decrease stamina and inner qi consumption. Obviously this wouldn't work in his old world, as it broke rule nuber 1 of science, energy conservation. Useing existing momentum to make more which would fuel itself more just didn't work. That's how you get a perpetual motion machine that grew over time.

Of course, as alex had long discovered by now the 'laws of science' were more 'polite suggestions' here. Just the existence of a infinitely renualble energy such as qi already broke rule 1 of science by itself.

Back to the technique, it's main weakness was that to get to any decent speed he would need to run in 'active mode' for a while, using increasing amounts of stamina and inner qi along the way. Luckily, he had plenty of that. Both where based off how strong his body was, mainly vitality.

And seeing as alex was confident he could survive being gutted and drained dry of blood with nothing but a nasty scar with his 450 points of Vitality, he had stamina and inner qi in spades.

[Congratulations host for creating the technique [perpetual sprint: tier 2].]

Once he finished the technique alex slowed down from his current speed down to his natural running speed, which while slower them his full speed was still 30km an hour, which he could maintain almost indefinitely with his curent regeneration rate.

Activating the technique a slow but steady flow of inner qi began to circulate from the base of his feet in tune with his steps, going from his feet to his legs, to his torso, to his chest, to his arms, to his head. Then back from his head to to his arms, to his chest, to his torso, to his legs and finnalt to his feet, joining the new stream of inner qi to repeat the flow. All while Alex kept a steady pace of running and flow of inner qi around his body. As his feet hit the ground faster the flow of inner qi sped up, which increased his speed, which increased the flow.

Fro, his 30km and hour it rose to 35 in an hour, then 42 in another hour, then 51 in another, 64, 77... once he reached a steady speed of 200 km an hour after 12 hours of running alex kept a steady speed, the constant rhythm of his steps pumping the flow of inner qi through his body, which allowed it to continue this pace, a small amout regularly used to keep the body in top shape as he continued his rapid pace. Alex laughed as he ran at incredible speeds, whenever something blocked his path a quick bust of [serpants dance] meant he could easily free run his way past.

The winds around him blew his hair back along with his robes, even with a portion of spirit qi used to form a thin barrier against dust and bugs he let the wind blow against him. He had been in planes in his past life and [flash step] put him at speed near this, but being in a plane or the short bursts of speed from [flash step] didn't come close to the feeling of travelling at such high speeds with his own body over such large distances.

If he wanted to he could go even faster, he could feel that he could reach as fast as 400km to 420km an hour before his body coulden't take the strain. But at that speed the energy cost would be immense, only alowing him to travel for a hours at that speed as compared to his curent state, where he could keep this pace for 1 or 2 days.

'Looks like [flash steps] sudden burst from a standstill is half my Constitution while [perpetual sprint] can go upto my constitution as max speed, at least at their current level. My inner qi drainage is about 3% per hour, depending on how much I have to avoid with [serpants dance] and my stamina will last me long past that. I wonder how fast I could go if I used [flash step] at max speed? Actualy now that i think about it that would probably hurt, a lot. Probably shouldn't test that.'
