CHAPTER 27

After a while, Noah entered the room with a few other members, including Alexander (Xan), who was holding a stack of files.

"Looks like the bastard is dead," he remarked, glancing at the body.

"Yeah, I needed to vent out my frustration," Xavier replied, placing the gun on the table.

"Xavier, there's been an issue with dealing with the weapons that were transported last night near the harbor. Someone stole them," Alexander reported, studying the data on his iPad.

"Yeah, and someone broke into one of our storages but got caught. All the clues lead to Henry," one of the guys added.

"That old brat. He's got some guts to mess with me. Blast the storage in New York; that will shut him up, and he himself will return the weapons," Xavier suggested, taking a drag from his cigarette.

After discussing a few other dealings with Xavier, the guys left, leaving only Alexander and Noah behind.

"Don't you think your dates with Amelia are too much?" Xavier inquired.

"You're my boss only here, not outside, and I'm not affecting her studies. What's there to worry about? Besides, she's happy with me," Alexander retorted, smirking.

"And you should worry about your girlfriend, not ours. If she knows you're involved in the Mafia, I don't even want to imagine what will happen to you," Noah warned, placing the iPad on the table, displaying the locations of three particular people and a few others.

"I can feel the hell Xavier, the great Mafia King, will soon face. And more than you, Ava scares me a lot," Alexander remarked, glancing at the iPad, which showed Amelia's location which beeped showing she arrived at the cafe.

"I'll tell her soon. And why don't I know that Mia knows that we're involved in the Mafia?" Xavier questioned, looking at Noah sternly.

"Because I haven't told her yet. If she knows, she would freak out, and I'm scared that she would tell Ava, which will ruin your freshly bloomed relationship. But I'll tell her soon," Noah explained, while sitting on the table, observing Tristan's body.

Soon, two maids entered and started cleaning the place.

"Fortunately, there haven't been attacks recently after the mall incident, but we should be alert. Anyway, both the girls are strong enough to protect themselves," Xavier noted.

"Okay, I have a study date with your sister. She would kill me if I'm late, bye bye" Alexander stated, leaving the place.

"I highly doubt you'll become a doctor, Xan," Noah teased, chuckling, when he saw Xavier glaring at him.

"Get out. I guess you too have a date with Mia," Xavier said, annoyed.

"Yes, we are going shopping for the school trip," Noah said, leaving Xavier alone in the room.

The two maids left after cleaning the whole place and taking Tristan's body to dump him in some garbage.

Xavier walked to the adjacent room where he could monitor the cameras, where he had placed spy cameras. He clicked a particular screen.

"So beautiful," he murmured, looking at the person who was busy typing something on her laptop. He knew that it was her English essay, which she had been working on for the past day.

He called her without removing his gaze from the screen. He saw how her eyes moved from the screen, and a small smile appeared on her lips.

"Hi," she replied cheerfully, laying down on the couch.

"Hi, what are you doing?" he asked, sitting on the chair and looking at her.

"I am writing my English essay. If I don't submit it by tomorrow, Mr. Walter will kill me," she replied.

"You should have submitted it last week. Why are you working so hard on just an essay?" Xavier asked.

"Just an essay! Oh my god, seriously, it is an important topic that can change people's opinions. And I need an A+," she replied, popping a few chocolates into her mouth.

"Fine. Did you pack everything for the college trip?" Xavier inquired.

"Yes, what about you?" Ava asked.

"I have to pack. I'll be done by tonight," Xavier replied.

"Fine, bye. I'll talk to you later. I'm busy now," Ava said, placing the laptop on her lap.

"Don't put the laptop on your lap; it's not good. Bye," Xavier advised before ending the call.

Ava frowned, puzzled at how he knew she put her laptop on her lap. She wondered for a while but resumed her work.

The next day, Ava went to submit her essay to Mr. Walter. The college was on holiday, so there were very few students around.

"Next time, try to submit a little earlier, Ms. Jones. This is your first and last warning," Mr. Walter admonished.

"Yes, Mr. Walter," Ava replied, pursing her lips.

"I'll take my leave then," she said and left the staff lounge.

As she was about to leave, realizing she had not washed her basketball jersey for many days, she headed to the locker room to grab her stuff.

She stuffed her clothes in her bag and was about to leave when somebody kicked her from behind.
