Chapter 0014: Instant Defeat

Chapter 0014: Instant Defeat

"Invincibility is so lonely, invincibility is so empty..." The song echoed across the training ground.

Everyone, including the Chunin instructors, stared in disbelief at the shirtless boy running around the training field. Their expressions were a mix of shock and bewilderment.

What kind of humiliating play is this! Damn it, I really want to die!

I covered my face with my hands, singing the song while running laps around the training field. The intense embarrassment I felt now was even worse than the time I had been caught in that compromising situation with the neighbor's wife.

"What the hell is he doing?!"

A student finally snapped out of their daze and exclaimed in astonishment.

"What a flamboyant kid, and such a weird song. In a way, he's truly invincible!"

"Damn it! How dare he pull such a crazy stunt in front of Miss Yui! This is absolutely unforgivable!"

Others quickly joined in, each voicing their opinions.

"Kurenai, your brother..." On the stands, Ino looked at Kurenai with a very subtle expression. Kurenai covered her face and, through the gap between her fingers, said, "Don't talk to me, I don't know him!"

"Could it be that Hiroto knew he was going to lose and decided to fulfill the bet in advance?" Some second-year students who knew the inside story couldn't help but speculate.

"Humph, it's too easy on him," a student who had a good relationship with Asuma Sarutobi said. "He was the one who said... that he'd strip down and run twenty laps around the entire Konoha training ground."

The training ground erupted in noise again. Meanwhile, in my mind, the annoying system prompt sounded:

[Congratulations, host, you have completed the option and earned the title—'The Modest Gentleman.' Overall training speed increased by 100%, and you have gained the chakra nature transformation talents of Fire, Lightning, and Wind."]

Wha-

Really???

Not to mention the three chakra nature transformations, just the doubled training speed was already extremely impressive.

After all, I had always been quite talented. Otherwise, even with the system's help, I wouldn't have achieved such strength in such a short time. Now that my talent was doubled again, its effects were self-evident.

The most crucial part was that in the future, when I would complete options and received cultivation rewards, it wouldn't just be a simple addition.

Of course, if I had the choice again, I would probably prefer to forgo this reward. The sense of humiliation felt like a public execution!

"Hiroto-kun, what does this mean?" Seeing that the student had finally quieted down, the second-year Chunin teacher approached.

"Sorry, Miyamoto-sensei," I lowered my head and apologized. "The atmosphere here was too intense, and I couldn't help myself." This was the excuse I had prepared in advance... hoping it would suffice.

Couldn't help myself?

Miyamoto-sensei's mouth twitched. "How passionate could you possibly be?"

"Forget it, Miyamoto-sensei," the original referee, Third-Year teacher Oda, came over and said, "A kid with such vitality shouldn't be too harshly reprimanded. Besides, our assessment is over, so the field is yours now."

"Sorry about that, Oda-sensei," Miyamoto politely responded.

Oda shook his head, said no more, and left the field with Yui and Obito.

Before leaving, Yui cast a meaningful glance at me. Unlike her classmates, she didn't completely leave the training ground but instead stood nearby, her gaze fixed on me.

Hey! Can you not look at me like that? It's so embarrassing!

My cheeks flushed, and I turned to head back to the audience seats.

However, Miyamoto-sensei's next words made me stop in my tracks. "Wait a moment. Since you're already on stage, the first test will start with you and Asuma Sarutobi... Asuma!"

"I'm here, Sensei." Asuma Sarutobi jumped down from the stage, casting a disdainful glance at me.

Oh, I really don't want to stay here any longer!

I slouched, my face full of despair. But as I saw Asuma's approaching figure, I finally made a decision.

Sorry, Asuma... I've decided to make this quick.

...

...

In the Hokage Office.

Four pairs of eyes were glued to the crystal ball, their expressions varying.

After a moment of silence, Jiraiya spoke up. "This kid... is he the one from outside that Tsunade brought?"

"Yes," Sarutobi Hiruzen nodded, giving a simple reply. "His name is Yuhi Hiroto."

"Hiroto, huh? He's quite an interesting kid," Jiraiya mused, eventually defining him as "special."

"You two seem to have a kindred spirit vibe; both of you act outside the norm," Tsunade glanced at him and said lightly.

"Are you saying I'm a pervert?" Jiraiya looked at her in confusion. "What's wrong with being a pervert?"

"Stop arguing." Orochimaru seemed to have found something of interest and focused on the crystal ball. "The kid's opponent is coming onto the stage; it's actually the teacher's child."

The other three turned their curious eyes toward the crystal ball. At that moment, Miyamoto announced the start of the match. Suddenly, the scene showed Hiroto accelerating and landing a punch to Asuma's abdomen.

Without any visible reaction, Asuma was sent flying and fell to the ground, unconscious.
