The Moon’s Guardian

The air was heavy as the moon shone brighter than ever before, its silvery glow spilling across the clearing. Cinder stood in its light, feeling its pull stronger than usual. Around her, the forest grew silent. Even the rustle of leaves stopped.

"Something's wrong," Jason said softly, his voice filled with concern. He stepped closer, but an invisible barrier stopped him in his tracks.

"Jason!" Cinder turned to him, worry flashing in her eyes. But he couldn't move.

Before either of them could speak again, the light of the moon grew blinding. Cinder shielded her eyes, and when the light dimmed, a figure stood before her.

The being was tall, cloaked in shimmering silver robes that seemed to be woven from the moonlight itself. Its face was pale and smooth, with glowing eyes that looked like two tiny moons.

"Who are you?" Cinder asked, her voice steady but her heart racing.
