Scott clenched his fists, his jaw tight with frustration. "He started it."
"I don't care who started it," Nolan snapped, his voice cutting through the tension like a blade. "I care about the fact that instead of focusing on why you're here, you two decided it was best to throw punches like common street thugs."
Marius finally spoke, his tone controlled but edged with defiance. "With all due respect, sir, I wasn't the one attacking anyone."
Scott scoffed. "Oh, please, you shoved me first."
"You ran into me first," Marius shot back, his gaze unwavering.
"And I apologized—"
Chief Nolan slammed his palm against the desk, the sharp crack silencing them both. "Enough!"
Scott swallowed hard. Even Jo stiffened beside him.
Nolan exhaled slowly, rubbing his temples as if he was already regretting waking up this morning. "Do either of you have any idea what's happening today?"
