"She was probably eaten by the wolves already. It's a waste of effort trying to help her."

A few passersby, who knew each other, sighed and advised the girl helplessly.

"Adventurer, please, can you save my grandmother!" The girl continued her pleas, paying no mind to their words.

"Little girl, it's not that we can't help you," one of the adventurers she stopped said, a hint of interest in his voice. "But what can you offer us in return?"

"I... I have gold!" The girl cautiously pulled out a single gold coin from her pocket.

"This is all the money I have!"

"What good is this small amount of gold?" The leading adventurer, with a lecherous look in his eyes, sneered at the young girl, his tone turning more sinister. "But you're quite pretty. If you agree to become my slave willingly, I'll consider helping you save your grandmother."

"Adventurer, please stop," Annie said, covering her chest with her hands and stepping back a few paces.

"Well, if you don't agree, no big deal. It's just one lonely old lady in the forest, being eaten by wolves. Nothing worth worrying about." The adventurer smirked maliciously.

Suddenly, a hand clapped down on his shoulder from behind.

"Hey, brother, we meet again," a quiet voice said, sending a chill down the adventurer's spine. His smile froze as he turned, only to see Rod's bright, sunny face appear before him.

"Aren't you the two adventurers who tried to steal my axe the other day? What's this, bullying children now?"

"No, no! We just felt sorry for her and wanted to help!" The adventurer stammered, his voice trembling as memories of being utterly overpowered by this terrifying man flooded back.

"Helping? By making her a slave? Should I give you some help too?" Rod's gaze lowered, cold and intimidating as he stared them down.

"Hahaha, I just remembered I have something urgent to attend to." The adventurer, sweating profusely, forced out a laugh, turning to leave quickly.

"Not so fast. Let me send you off properly." Rod's hand shot out, grabbing each adventurer by the shoulder with one hand.

Whoosh!

With terrifying strength, Rod sent the two flying through the air like meteors, disappearing into the distance.

"Trash."

Dusting off his hands, Rod turned his attention to the girl in the red cloak.

"What's your name?"

"Annie. The people in the village call me Little Red Riding Hood," she replied timidly, her eyes filled with fear as she looked at him.

"Don't be afraid. I'm not a bad guy." Rod's radiant smile, enhanced by the power of the sun, exuded a warmth that naturally inspired trust.[T/N: Like any bad guy would tell he is bad.]

Looking at his smile, Annie couldn't help but think, He must be a kind and warm-hearted big brother. The fear she had in her heart dissipated quietly.

"You said earlier that your grandmother is in the forest, right?"

"Mhm." Annie nodded.

"Well, it just so happens I'm heading to the forest. You can come along with me."

Annie's face lit up with excitement. "Really?"

Rod nodded, though his expression became a little strange. Little Red Riding Hood, grandmother, wolves...

Am I stuck in a fairy tale world?
