Rachel's eyes widened as she realized the extent of Alex's memory loss. "Alex, Sophia is your wife," she explained gently, trying to gauge his reaction.
But Alex's expression remained blank, his eyes scanning the room as if searching for answers. "My wife?" he repeated, his voice laced with confusion. "Oh please, cut the crap, Rachel, this thing here is not my wife."
"Thing?" Sophia muttered, her eyes widened in surprise.
Is this what Alex really thinks of me? A thing?
These questions roamed through her mind, and she nearly broke into tears.
Rachel chuckled lightly. "Is this some kind of joke Alex? I mean, if you remember me, then you should remember Sophia, too."
Alex raised an eyebrow. "I don't see why I should remember Sophia just because I remembered you. Besides, why shouldn't I remember you? I mean, you've been my assistant for a couple of weeks, right?" Alex asked.
