I pull away to look at the wide-eyed rain who is looking so adorable.
"How are you feeling?"
"I uh, I don't know. Confused but not scared."
I take his face with both of my hands. "I know." My heart is hammering so fast but I need to know if he is sacred fast. We have gone for months and decided not to have any kids, but then this happens.
The goddess is full of surprises.
"Are you …"
"I am happy but …"
"But what?" he asks me, gripping my hands.
"I don't want you to feel pressured by it. Do you want it?"
"I do. I didn't think I did but I do. I am not saying all is well but now that it is here, we can figure it out."
"Together," I press my forehead on his closing my eyes. My little rain is pregnant.
With my child.
"I guess that explains all the weird behavior," he whispers, then laughs.
"What weird behavior?"
"You haven't noticed anything with us?" he raises his eyebrows in question.
