Lexie laughs like I have said a joke. "What?" I raise my eyebrows, turning towards her.

"It's just that you are doing your part in the nesting. You two are adorable."

When we get back home, she helps me store everything, making sure that the treats are neatly arranged and easily accessible. My baby has a sweet tooth, and I don't want him cursing me out in the middle of the night when he can't access his ice cream.

I check my phone for the message the Hawks sent me. Rain went to see Scott and should be coming back by now. I know that he is feeling overwhelmed so if he needs to get away for a few hours, it's fine.
