Chapter 28

Mia's name made her stand still. Her name should not be mentioned in things like this, so why did Caleb call her name just like that?

"What's up with Mia?" She asked, turning back to him and examining his fearful face, looking for what to say.

"Dearest, I am so sorry. I just wanted to get your attention."

"Are you saying that Mia did nothing? You just wanted to call her name for fun?" She was already too angry, and this joke added fuel to her fire. 

"No, babe." He said, trying to hold her hands. But she did not let his hands touch hers. "Don't 'babe' me. Don't try me. And please, let this be the last time you play with Mia's name like that."

"I am sorry." He said, realizing he had done something worse than what he had imagined. He only called the name to get her attention, and he planned to tell her later on that he was just trying to make her listen to him. But he was very wrong.
