Luc POV
Seething, Luc saw red. Specifically, he saw his brother and his brother's wh*re soaked in their own blood. Forget the princess ritual. Clearly, that no longer scared the human scum. No, nothing less than murdering his brother and the human would suffice. Their dead bodies would strike terror into the hearts of the humans--and any other vampires who even thought of following Dimitri's example.
The ultimate insult was his brother corrupting and twisting Irina. Did Dimitri have to take every prize?
Irina's parents looked distraught. With a comforting smile, he approached them. "This is not over, I promise you--"
SMACK.
King Oliphant Razumikhin's hand felt like a sledgehammer, and Luc's world spun, the wind knocked out of him. His cheek felt like it would explode. Staggering back, he backed into a straight-backed chair and fumbled with both his hands until he gripped it for support.
