Chapter 143: Marching Orders

Luc POV

TWO DAYS LATER

Oliphant adjusted Luc's armor, taking care to make sure it was fastened tightly. Nothing could get between the metal and Luc's undershirt, much less pierce Luc's flesh.

Gritting his teeth, Luc smiled. "Thank you, Your Majesty." Loud, so everyone within earshot knew that he addressed Oliphant formally. No matter what kind of scurrilous whispers and gossip flew around the palace, Luc would still act with decorum in public.

However he got his army, the ends definitely justified the means. The squadron of soldiers in their armor with the sun bouncing off the metal looked like a fighting force no one in their right mind would want to take on. Of course, Luc knew that his brother and Irina and the human would not just roll over and give up without a fight.

He hoped they fought hard, and dragged their loyal soldiers and even the common folk into the devastating, bloody battle. What better way to weaken Dimitri from within?
