Chapter 5.

Marie's shoes felt like they were made of lead as she walked away. 

She lost all awareness of her surroundings. She got into a taxi absentmindedly. 

Suddenly, the driver uttered, "Ma'am, where to?"

Marie was stunned for a moment. 

She didn't want to go back to Serenity Villas. It was only a matter of time before that place stopped being her home. 

After a while, she replied, "Please take me to Crystal Bay."

She dialed a number and the person picked up. 

Hey, are you at home? Yes, I just got home, the voice said. 

Okay, I'm coming right now. 

The memories of the past two years were bittersweet. 

Two years had passed in the blink of an eye even though it was more than seven hundred days and nights. 

Love could move mountains, they said. 

Yet, her love didn't move that stone of a man. She finally realized what a fool she had been. She had been making herself a laughingstock in front of everyone. 

 "Madam, we're at Crystal Bay". Said the taxi. 

It was Luis Steven's house. 

She knocked and he quickly opened the door for her. 

Luis's sleeves were rolled up casually, and the top buttons of his shirt were undone, which revealed his long neck and part of his collarbone. He was leaning on the wall by the door. Marie lay on the bed and cried out loud! It's okay to cry dear if that will make you feel better. 

I'm sorry you have to pass through all of this. 

Marie:I'm pregnant and at this point, I don't know what to do. 

Luis: don't worry everything will be alright soon.

Marie has been having a secret affair with Luis Steven for quite a while now.

Marie took the picture, looking closely at it with a blank memory.

No! I don't know.

Suddenly she remembered! In my grandmother's closet.

Marie quickly grabbed his neck and kissed him passionately.

They both had great sex and soon Marie was back to her grandmother's house.

She went straight to her grandmother's closet and started scattering everywhere, looking for the familiar picture.

Marie froze for a moment! 

Her grandmother spoke: Your father was the owner of that company.

He hired Dixon as his driver when you were born, 2 years later he promoted Dixon to the general manager which your mother was against but your Dad was so generous.

Her grandmother beat her lower lip to conceal her bitterness and tried so hard not to cry.

One day your parents came back from a meeting and started vomiting blood.

At this point "Marie and her grandmother couldn't control their tears".

They were rushed to the hospital and were confirmed dead! The doctor found some poisonous substance in their stomach.

2 months after their death Mr Dixon took over the company.

After saying that, Marie couldn't help but burst into tears! 

Why haven't you told me all this since? I wouldn't have made all these terrible mistakes Marie said sobbing uncontrollably.

I had a secret marriage with Mr Dixon's son.

Oh, my life is messed up, she sobbed.

I'm also pregnant with him!!!

At this point, the hand became very hot even though it was in winter.

Why didn't you tell me all of this? Her 

grandmother inquired in a low tune.

Wait, was this the cause of your shock? 

Strangely, the light in the corridor began flickering, someone walked into the door.

It was Luis Steven's! Marie ran to him and cried out loud.

It was the Dixons who killed my parents and took over the company.

I know Marie and trust me I've got this under control.

So you knew all this while too? And you allowed me to pass through more pain there? 

No, I found out the day I helped Raymond get some documents in his father's car,

That was when I saw this…. Marie quickly took the piece of paper that was in Raymond's hands.

He instructed his help to put that poison in your parent's food. It seems they had a get-together in his house that fateful day.

Listen, Marie, I told you from the day we fell in love that I was going to do everything to protect right? 

Marie nodded in agreement.

I've got all of this under control, I would like you and your grandmother to move back to the countryside where you were living before now so that the Dixons will not come for you here.

Raymond and Lauren were preparing to go to a party when a News flashed on the television about how his father had poisoned the Reagans just to take over the company.
